Any Info on the Hextech Key Drop Rate?

I've seen a couple rates bandied about, all uncited, ranging from flat rates to ones that depend on party size. Was there any info Riot put out or any study done by a third party on this? Reddit isn't helpful on this, hence why I'm asking here.
