Some reasonable changes for Shyvana to make her viable again (A Level 7 Shyvana)

As the title says...

Shyvana is currently sitting at a 50%-51% win rate: http://na.op.gg/champion/shyvana/statistics/jungle https://champion.gg/champion/Shyvana/Jungle?

As a level 7 Shyvana, it is sad to see that she is barely viable right now. Due to her outdated, yet unique, kit - she could use some small changes to make her viable once again.

Range increased from 125 to 200

New Passive: Fury of the Dragonborn

Shyvana deals 20% bonus true damage to dragons and Vilemaw

Additionally, Shyvana's basic attacks ignite targets dealing 8/10/12% (Levels 1, 7, and 13) of their current health in true damage for 3 seconds (static 10 second cooldown on each individual target)

Q: Twin Bite

New Effect Shyvana stuns the target for 1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5 seconds

Twin Bite deals 60% bonus damage to monsters

W: Burnout

Patch 8.9 reverted; AP scaling increased from 10% to 60%

New Effect Burnout deals 150% bonus damage to monsters

E: Flame Breath

Damage increased from 60/100/140/180/220/260 to 100/140/180/220/260

AD scaling increased from 30% to 80%

AP scaling increased from 70% to 100%

R: Dragon's Descent

Enhanced range increased from 175/190/205 to 215/220/225

Damage increased from 150/250/350 to 300/400/500

These buffs is to help Shyvana to become one of the fastest clearers in the jungle once again and will allow her to be much more burstier.

Reasons:

-By giving Shyvana an updated passive will make her no longer have a useless passive.

-By adding a stun to Twin Bite will reward Shyvana for managing to get close to her target - especially when she is very easily kited.

-By reverting Patch 8.9 on Burnout and give her AP scaling back (with an increased AP scaling) will make AP Shyvana much more viable.

-By allowing Twin Bite and Burnout to deal bonus damage to monsters will allow Shyvana to become a fast clearer once again.

-Buffing the damage on Flame Breath will reward Shyvana for landing it successfully.

-By buffing both her scalings on Flame Breath and the damage on Dragon's Descent will allow Shyvana to one-shot (or nearly one-shot) squishies if she pleases.

Slight issue at the start: "it is sad to see that she is barely viable right now. " With over 50% win rate? That's balanced if anything

I like both aspects of the passive however you lose me from there.

Shyvana traditionally has traded CC for mobility and dmg. Later on her W has near constant up time and Shyvana is in the third fastest ms category. There are 5 champions faster than her. She is then as fast or faster than 135 champions. It's why they haven't added CC to her and likely won't add CC to her without taking some away. The issue with some of you changes is that you essentially give Shyvana the Yasuo treatment, and give her tools to cover her weaknesses. This is a design problem as it will create an obnoxious champion. While Shyvana isn't the queen of the meta right now, in the past she's been just as obnoxious as MasterYi due to the nature of her kit (primarily on hit AA builds)

So Q: She shouldn't get any more CC. As said above, she's faster than most of the champ roster, she then has a speed steroid and a gapcloser so this serves to cover a weakness she has (lacking good harc CC). It really doesn't need bonus damage to monsters. If riot tones down dmg shyv will fall into place. She clears the jungle just fine and there're plenty of champs who can't who're yet to get this bonus dmg treatment (many jungle tanks who aren't amumu)

W: Again the bonus dmg isn't really needed. Will address AP ratios at the end

E: A flat base dmg buff +buffing both ratios is way over doing it on every level dude.

R: Not sure why she needs reliability buffs: see Q.

A common issue I'm seeing is that you're brain is locked into "shyvana is an AP champ who must burst everything". The biggest issue with the changes is the drastic increase in damage. These are not small, reasonable changes. Shyvana's burst pattern is unhealthy because it's point+click, huge hitbox burst that is almost impossible to avoid. Remember why they nerfed her in the first place? Because AP shyv jg was broken and unfun to deal with.

By changing her spells in this manner, you lock her out of AD/tank/on-hit builds because there will only be one right way to build her, and it won't be what you proposed. She will be built as follows: item 1402 item 3020 item 3152 item 3165 item 3116 item 3151 item 3115. Just like she was when AP shyv was the strongest champ in the game With those ratios, she will be built to one shot assassinate entire teams with her obscene AOE damage. it isn't hard to land her R+E. Their hitboxes are huge, then you have W burning ppl and can AA away

I understand your intentions, you just want shyv to be better. But these changes make her blatantly overpowered, as in perma pick/ban overpowered. They're not even close to being reasonable unfortunately

His intentions are to troll. He makes a few of these posts a day. Yours may be the most thought out response I've seen tho.

That's a shame. Shyv's needed some work done for a while now and talking about achieving her dragon fantasy is always fun

https://thumbs.gfycat.com/AntiqueNextCoral-max-1mb.gif Just imagine if she was that big compared to other champs in game...

from my experience of playing shyvana her early game is dreadful, her mid game is strong(if you or your team doesn't feed), and then her late game is a little above average. she is hard countered by CC, and other strong juggernauts and by good enemy team work. if the enemy groups on shyvana early game its over. her early game is just a little too weak in my opinion and she needs something to balance out how disadvantaged she is. im not talking damage rather give her better sustain or damage reduction against jungle creatures. currently on your first clear if you fight anyone you won't be able to full clear, and if your can't full clear you have to back and you won't be able to buy the items you need to have a healthy clear, which means you then have to spend time later backing again putting you behind all game.. you are almost guaranteed lose the game if the enemy can find you and attack you a few times in your first clear. that's bullshit. and in order to win you have to survive the first clear, get an early dragon, farm a little bit more, pull off successful ganks at lv 6 and keep the ball rolling until you hit their nexus, or get carried and help someone else win the game. the difficulty to win vs. the ease to lose is grossly unbalanced and all it would really take is either a little cc, life steal, or damage reduction to change the early game and maker her more enjoyable to play before lv 6. idk if the rest of the community feels the same way but she could likely gain more players if she were more balanced in the win vs loss difficulty, and early game struggle.

How about instead of these, we just fix Dragon Descent’s hitbox & knockback and return the 20% bonus damage on Burnout? Easy.

As a shyv main myself, these ideas are pretty interesting. Though if I may make a suggestion, perhaps instead of stunning Twin bite reduces a target's armor by 10% for 4 seconds. And in dragon form, it slows them briefly by 30% and reduces armor by 25%.
