Dark Star: Singularity

I really want to like Singularity, it's a very different quick game mode, I try to play it. It just feels so unresponsive, I find myself checking my ping the entire time, like nope, still at 35 ping, why does it feel like it's lagging. Maybe it's how fast the game goes, maybe it's the amount of time you spend locked into animations and combos, maybe it's the stupid scuttle crabs always in the way, maybe it's because I'm forever getting afks, new players and people with mouse issues.

So I try, every couple days when it's up, I play a couple games like maybe I'll get it this time. Three games later I walk away with a bad taste in my mouth going that is the worst game mode ever, I remember now why I've refused to play it the last 4 days it's been out. Is it just me?

I think my biggest problem is the combos, every time I get caught with Q it's like "oh well, I'm dead, nothing I can do for the next 8 seconds while I'm locked into the chain of your pull animation, your dash to me animation, your flay animation, the flying to the singularity animation, god finally over." Then you rez, make it to the platform and immediately get combo'd again. It just sucks all the fun out of it when I can't respond to any of that, especially on the occasions when you can actually see your champion animations going off but they don't DO ANYTHING. The floating text is rage inducing, "No Tagbacks" it says helpfully while your character is bounced around the map by the enemies, hoping that this time maybe your team mates will land the lantern... Nope finally 10 seconds later you land in the singularity.

Combo'ing correctly will get rid of many of your clunkiness problems, and if you get stunlocked that's good coordination on your enemies part. Best way to avoid that is not to get hooked in the first place, and yes that sounds hard, but it's manageable if you keep your distance and go for snipes. Also if you think you're about to get hooked, you can throw your Q at one of the three lantern shrine things, and it'll invuln you and pull you to it even if you got hooked.

Also if they're far enough away, sometimes you can E them first while they're dashing to you.

My biggest problem was when I E and it gets canceled by their E and it still goes on CD even though I was the one who E'd first.
