Since the game tend to be more early than before because of the multiple objective who give massive advantage, you can't play jungler who need 6 or farm to be relevant, they are outclass by every jungler who has early presence and sometime early presence and scaling.
Playing 
is basically watch your team dying during 10 min and loose the game without doing anything.
There is a reason why none of those champs are meta.
Scaling junglers are fine, it's the stupid player that don't know how to play and will find every weakness of your champion to ensure the loss and then blame it on you.

If you think you NEED to be level 6 to gank with Yi, you're doing it wrong.
meta is actually scaling junglers . but tanks ones .

is fine, it's just that you can't afford to powerfarm on him anymore. Korean high elo Yi players actually adjust their builds/setup based purely on early pressure. Some buildpath that was popular a while ago was to rush t1 jungle item into dirk into tabi and focus on heavy ganking which might seem a bit awkward on yi but it's just how the meta works.
Yi's pre 6 ganks with ghost and red buff can be quite scary and will result in a kill in any overextended lane, but yea if you sit in jungle 15 min farming you won't get anywhere.
