When I see a teammate getting stomped but they refuse to build any defense I try to understand them

"Ok the enemy is mostly ability power, maybe I should get / so I get damage and defense against their burst... naw that's stupid let's make sure to avoid MR like the plague."

"Huh the enemy's damage and their most fed members are on-hit AD, maybe some / would be a good plan... nah I can totally tank that We building boys!"

I watch with these things in mind and... and I still don't get it, neither of these click to make any semblance of sense.

Defensive items on the wrong champions just makes them useless. The correct answer is lane swaps or better positioning.

i was playin vayne mid and enemy went leblanc, i rushed tons of mr including hex drinker i still died in single combo

Has anyone actually say down and analyzed whether building or damage or defensive is better in the current meta? It is so snowbally right now that building defensive in a losing game is akin to accepting the status quo and letting the other team continue to take more objectives.
