Percent hp dmg and bleed. Also slows. He can't get to you if slowed so Rylais liandries on mages. Bork mortal reminder on adc or if tanking, something that can kee him away from your carries, speaking as a volibear main for two years before becoming FotW this is how you defeat him. Also I cannot stress the importance of having an ignite on your team. Otherwise his dives at 6 are unstoppable.

Azir with a Rylias

^.

Oh lord the misery playing Voli when Enemy team has both Azir and Vayne. You either snowball unbelievably hard or you autolose post 20.

At least one person on your team has to take ignite. It really depends on your position though. If you're a carry your team needs to peel for you and you need to kite like mad. If you're pretty much any other position just peel him off your carries and let them do what they're meant to do.

Champs who wreck Volibear if you're laning against him:

Chogath DrMundo Singed

Specifically to your point, these champions just survive in lane against him. If you want to kill him play Darius or Garen. Excecutes cancel his passive pretty well in lane.

Very true. I chose Cho'Gath as the first due to the execute potential on his ult. But he is also able to sustain as well.

As a former Voli jungle main, just pick Vayne

Very few champions have favorable win rates against volibear, but I will say this, Amumu might be your choice pick to counter the bear. As for playing around the bear, warding lane entrances is important. voli's hard to get away from once he flips and slows you, and his bite will almost always guarantee a kill if you're caught out. A fed bear will make like hard for your squishies, but he can still be kited. Like other champs without dashes or blinks, he has to make use of flash to catch out in position champions. If you can react fast enough, flash away. Otherwise, dead ADC. Bear's hidden strength lies in his passive. If your team can pick Katarina, who can decrease healing using one of her abilities, do so. She makes like hard for the bear. Otherwise, think about using ignite on the bear when low to help mitigate some of the healing. Bear hates getting slowed. Blue build ezreal is one of his most hated foes for good reason. He won't be able to engage on anyone, and definitely will have a tough time getting to the phase shifting guy. On the other hand, Bear loves low mobility squishies, and can even do decently against some assassins until late game. He likes going against JINX or a FIZZ. BEAR's weakness lies in his lategame. Since his scaling is a bit on the weak side for both his E and R, you'll see him becoming less and less of a threat as long as he hasn't snowballed way ahead of you.

So that's my 2 cents. But let me ask you this.

There will be times, when the most threatening champion on the enemy team, is the front line tank. Players in low elo don't realize this, and think it's all about killing the ADC or mid, all the time. Team fighting isn't just about diving the back line adc or mage, it's about working together to eliminate the most threatening champion at the time. Sometimes, this champion will be the full tank Volibear.

The reason Voli is so successful in low elo, is because people are afraid to focus the tank for whatever reason. What ends up happening is Voli gets to have a field day, running around doing whatever he wants in the fight, and people will straight up ignore him because he's the tank. You ever notice tanks in Bronze/Silver going like 10/2/15? It's because people ignore the tank and tunnel vision on carries.

Voli is a simple champion by design. In order to beat a Volibear, or any tank for that matter, you need teamwork + CC + high amounts of AP and AD damage. Even full tanks will be force to back off if they're being hammered on by 5 champions. His passive will trigger at low health, so keep that in mind when trying to burst him down.

Depends if you got counter pick.

He's pretty binary since he's almost pure melee so as long as you can outrun the teammate the bear as ranged you're fine. If you're stuck picking a tank however, Trundle does really well in match ups where both are pure melee.

And I'd wouldn't rush a executioners or grab ignite.

Ignite doesn't counter Volibear, Volibear counters ignite.

Vayne is riddiculously good against Volibear, he doesn't have the mobility to neither pin her down nor escape, nor the ability to duel her unless he's fed beyond belief, a good Vayne player is the nightmare of every Voli player, you are rendered useless.

Other options would be bringing a long range control mage, like Lux, or a tanky short range megaburst control mage, like Ryze.

He can't do a damn thing unless you allow him to sit on you much like Tryndamere and Jax. His cooldowns are quite long so just stuffing him once kills his threat level for quite some time. Also, as he uses his Q to engage, he won't have an easy time escaping as it's his only gapcloser, just beware of his passive and bait it out if you don't have the firepower to focus him down.

ban him. seriously .hes obnoxious to play against. ganks bot lane and immediately forces summoners.

you have to beat him with other cancer. yi and kindred. just go to his jungle and kill him with these two. keep him behind or he will be unkillable.
