Aatrox is and has been quite weak in top lane for quite some time. I know there are others that would come and try to disagree and argue otherwise, but if you just look at the facts, HE IS WEAK. There is a reason why no one picks him anymore. He isnt a great tank due to his lack of any benefits within his kit itself that scale with or promote tankiness. He most definitely isnt a good melee dps, he lacks the stickiness or stealth that other successful melee carries have. Such as trynd with the slow and gap closer that has a lower cool down with each auto, or Rengar with his slow/snare and invisibility, or Riven with her seamlessly endless mobility and her low cd stun and knock up, or yasuo, or fiora. And if I'm honest with you, I dont really care that he isnt a one shot cheese melee carry.......it just doesnt fit his lore. Aatrox is supposed to be an unkillable entity of war and battle....... not someone who jumps in with (if built tanky) sub par tank stats and hits like a noodle. I feel like he needs a quite large kit rework or overhaul to give him what he lacks most, a sense of filling a unique role. I feel like Riot is on the line as to whether or not he should be a melee carry or a bruiser/tank. They need to make up their mind, and to help them, I'd like to throw in my two cents. Make him into a true sustain tank, give him a kit which revolves around doing not too much dmg, but being immensely tanky with a small amount of dmg and a great deal of sustain to win 1v1s and trades. Take his kit and turn it into one that rewards him for building tank stats and helps him fulfill his role of an undying warrior.

Passive: either scrap this and give him a new one (most people are speculating that this is the real reason Riot cannot seem to balance him). Or let his passive still give him the attack speed and revive, but let his max blood well scale off of his maximum HP.

Q: If one thing in the entire post is taken seriously, please let it be this. The only redeeming feature in Aatrox's kit at this point is this potential 5 man dive/knock up..........I cannot tell you how much of a let down it is to be pulled out of his leap when u are 40 ft in the air. Just make him invulnerable at the peak of his jump.

W: Maybe add either a percent of his max hp ratio to the w, or a percent of the enemies current hp ratio to blood price. As for blood thirst, make the heal a percentage of his maximum health.

E: I feel like his E is perfectly fine at this point.

R: I like the recent change made to his ult (gives a percentage of his bloodwell with each enemy hit). But I still feel like once past early/mid game, his dmg on his ult becomes almost non existent. Maybe get rid of the high base dmg and add a decent scaling ratio that isnt ap.

He is a bruiser right now. Not a tank or melee carry. Your suggestion, as long as he keeps his passive as a revive of sorts would force him to compete with Zac.

I guess you could make him into a full tank, like your rework suggests if you remove his current passive.
