Then why is it when someone spends 450 gold on item 1033 in lane my abilities do much less damage?

I think the item is busted btw. 25 is such a high amount and it counters you purchasing sorc shoes and then some. Pretty much makes the lane a farm lane if they build it into hexdrinker.

That's because you play zed almost exclusively. Building pure damage is exactly what you should be doing. Mercury treads is hardly enough to tank against mages by itself.
