As a Darius 'main' i'd like to say
From what i've played so far, the Darius rework seems to be horrendously unfun AND underpowered. What I mean by that is that there are a lot of my complaints about this rework that are not tied to any numerical values. I will start by listing those before going on to the ones that are tied to numerical values.
His Q, Decimate, now has a delay before going off, and it is very frustrating for the following reasons:
- His Q now interrupts his ability to autoattack while channeling this ability, making it very easy to cancel an autoattack before casting this spell, resulting in one less passuive stack than you'd like on your target.
- The delay also significantly reduces darius' ability to splitpush with triforce, using decimate to get quick access to spellblade to take down towers (and this also affects his ability to fight in general)
- This delay also makes it very sluggish to play as darius, and feels like landing a Q on your opponent results in a misplay on their part.
- If you want to land such a delayed ability on someone running away from you, you feel like you have to overextend way too much in orded to successfully hit.
- The heal on this ability feels thematically inappropriate, tacked on, and most of all, it feels unrewarding and unimpactful as a whole.
His W, Crippling Strike, no longer slows attack speed. What this results in right now is his complete inability to duel any autoattack reliant champion anymore (i know attack speed slows are a tricky thing to balance, but it's still a very big loss in his strength as a champion)
His E now pulls enemies to Darius, and then pushes them back somewhat further away from him, this makes Darius even easier to kite than he was before
Now for the numbers wise
His passive was simply reduced in damage and turned to physical damage, making it generally weaker
His rank5 Q, on an outer edge hit, with AD runes and masteries, a black cleaver and a longsword, now deals 37 less damage than it used to in the same circumstances, which is a big numbers nerf
his W now does 140% at all ranks instead of 120 to 200... simply a nerf to the ability as well
his ult had it's damage reduced as well, just a nerf
But hey, he gets up to 200 AD on his passive if he stacks it up, which brings us to the next problem, his attack speed, was completely gutted, so even with an item like blade of the ruined king, you barely reach 1 attack per second... so good luck sticking onto someone for five seconds in a late game teamfight BEFORE you can finally get to be useful as something else than a walking hp bar.
All in all I feel like this rework will make Darius go from my 2nd most played toplaner to a "i'm never touching this champion again" once this day is over.
