New HUD overall major set back

Before the only annoying thing was not all self buffs were applied in the same place, and I think most of us can agree we like that all buffs and debuffs related to our champion are in the middle above our abilities. Everything aside from that is a major set back and makes it much harder to find certain information. Before it was more organized. Now everything is just cluttered in just one part of the screen.

UI Substitution

**1. No movement in the HUD. ** The lack of moveable elements in the new HUD makes it seem like a substitution than an update. We're not improving a ui, were swapping it with a different one. There is simply no reason why we shouldn't have a movable ui other than pure laziness on the development end. Customization of the HUD should be up to the player, as they will find what is comfortable, the same way you find what hand placement and f/d summoner spell placement. I shouldn't be limited by what riot thinks is acceptable. Unlike what some people claim, it is not an unfair advantage to be able to move the HUD and have it in a different location, otherwise you couldn't swap what side the minimap was on.

2. It takes up less space

So? Why is that necessarily a good thing? I can tell you that after playing it on pbe for the past 2 weeks, not once has that extra screen space let me dodge a skill shot. Having more space to look won't increase reaction time.

3. Decreased use of peripherals

This is the most concerning part of mushing everything together. No longer can I use the corner of my eye to see when an ally just got chunked in top lane, or them gaining a level. I didn't have to look there to see what was going on. Now, when in 1 place, I have to spend more time looking for the information I want, rather than a quick glance at most.

But oh don't worry, you'll get used to it.

Actually, no I won't. That's what they said about splitting up the buffs/debuffs into 2 locations, so I now have to check 2 locations for the same information. I still forget the affects are over on the left side.

_ But op that takes no time at all._

Just remember, the east coast complains about 40-50 difference in ping.

We have not been given an 'objectively better' UI. We have done nothing more but switch from Coke to Pepsi, and are told to just 'get used to it,' like we were told with cass and viegar reworks. Sounds more like Stockholm Syndrome than an improvement. So I will not be thrilled with this substitution. Does it implement new features? Yes. But it steps on toes to do so. Moving my UI shouldn't prevent these feature from existing, nor should showing allies ult timers.

Am I the only one who actually likes the new HUD? I mean sure, I'm still getting use to it, but overall I think it looks nice. Just need them to make the stats text bigger and I'll be good.

i agree in the most part, they surrender window is huge and covers up the enemy respawn timers, and riot took out the borderless option. riot just give us a HUD that we can change to our liking it's not that hard. all the new hud gives us is looking a bit prettier

i feel like the team icons from spectator mode are more useful aswell.

they show you summoner spell and ult cooldowns. no idea why they didnt just use that.

Give it one week. You'll get used to it. I can't imagine when you first played league you instantly were able to find every little thing. Also saying "cluttered" isn't really accurate. They organized everything in a way that makes quite a bit of sense. There's room between the main character pane and the minimap. The CS, score, and team score have their own bar on top of the minimap. Then above that there's one more bar, with icons for the characters. Sure maybe the ally tiles should be moved back to where they were, or on to the right side of the screen, but it's still not "cluttered". As for the character/skill/item pane I'd say it's actually less cluttered now. The items, stats, and summoner portrait all used to be mashed in to one little box in the bottom right left, and then the skills were all in the middle of the screen in the same spot they're at now. The stats actually have more room off to the left side of the summoner portrait now than they did before, and the items are on the entire other side of the skill/HP bar. If anything I'd say they gave everything more space. Plus they got rid of those useless crap ping buttons on the minimap.

Please Riot.. give us a option to use the old HUD

I literally get eye pain, headaches, and can not see some of the info on it with out strain .. I play this game almost everyday and love it but I honestly will have to quit if I do not have the option for the old one back. I wear glasses and have a large monitor almost on top of me and it's still painful.. Please this is my first time I ever came on the boards to post but I feel like I have to. I love your game but sadly will not play anymore if I am forced to use this HUD.

It's not a matter of not liking it.. It is a matter of not being able to see and being in pain while trying to enjoy my favorite game.
