How long games last compared to when a team has already won.

So recently I started playing and watching some Start Craft. The thing that threw me the most at first was how a player can surrender the moment they realize a game is lost. Enemy build Banshees and destroy your mineral lines early on? Surrender the moment you lose 5 or more workers. Sure you might be able to make a comeback from it, but probably not.

What does this have to do with League? Well especially with how snowball games are in this meta there are so many games that are straight up over by the 15 minute mark if not sooner. I realize that the chance to make comebacks in League is better than that of Star Craft. But personally when a game has been lost for 5 plus minutes and the moment I see the opponent I am killed, that not fun. I don't even think it is fun on the winning team. This is often made worse when a team member fails to enter a game for any reason as thats gonna be 20 minutes of hell for the team of 4.

League is the most fun to me when it is an even match up of teams where any fight can go either way and it all matters on how well it is played. The same is with Star Craft, if a game is over a team wants to quit because the other team outplayed them early on shouldn't that team be allowed to quit and start a new game where they can have fun?

but the thing about league is you can get 5 of your team members together, take a baron, hook their alone farming caitlyn, and turn around and push 4v5 down the mid lane regardless of gold differential.

the guaranteed loss only occurs when the enemy team doesn't make any mistakes, where they contend you for the baron and win it because they're ahead, and then they push down your mid inhib, thats when you know you've lost. but you just cant predict what the enemy is going to do throughout the rest of the game. thats why you cant solo surrender give up try again.

its called league of throws.

Not to mention that if one thing goes wrong on the enemy team one of them might start to rage on the others and begin the downward spiral. I've found that in low ELO if all seems lost have your whole team focus on reking just one of them over and over until he gets mad and stops trying to help the rest and instead has an /all chat flame war. It's kind of devious, but it totally works.

Isn't that the best way to beat a Nasus player. Camp the hell out of him and kill him multiple times. His team will rage at him so he won't want to help them. Then focus on pushing into his base. It will be a 4v5 because Nasus will be trying to catch back up in cs and stacks, and his team will rage even more because he isn't a part of the team fights.

While yes that can happen, and I have won games that stretch out to the 50+ minute when my team was behind early, that doesn't mean that its always fun to get to that point. Playing Normal's is about having fun and playing a game where I know that we can win but it is going to be painful just isn't always worth it to me.

Topics like these remind me of why I love Dominion.

Alas, if only Riot had supported it from the start...
