I really don't like her update. The worst part of her update is that her heals now take away some of her health. That's not how Soraka is suppose to work! It would have been enough just to get rid of her mana heals, but they also had to add that her heals hurt her.
The only thing I'm glad about her update is that they did not localize her ult.
I use to always play Soraka before her update, but now I tend to switch between Sona and Taric.
In my mind, new Raka is MUCH stronger than the old one. Starcall isn't all that much harder to land (because old range was so small) and deals a ton of damage, so she has way better poke now-- and can use it without pushing the lane. Her heals are big enough that the HP cost is worth it, and the low cooldown makes her an absolute livesaver. Add this to the fact that she now has a minor mobility buff from her passive and you've got a pretty amazing champ.
