Why not just remove the Fog of War?
When has not been able to see someone been a good thing? What are we? Lee Sin? You gonna tell us to drive at night without headlight next?

Who you calling a troll?
Assuming headlights has the capability to shine & bend around corners to a distance.
Are you saying light doesn't bend or reflect?! Have you never seen a mirror before?!

So we're now confirming trees & bushes are made out of mirrors? K.
Light reflects off of most surfaces. That why when you shine a flashlight on a wall in a dark room the whole room is lit up not just where you aimed the flashlight at. A mirror was just the easiest example. [zombie-brand-mindblown]

It lits up from a certain part of the area depending on where you stand. Your choice was to remove the whole goddamn map's fog...
you were talking about RL, and didn't address what i said in the game. Don't try to change the subject to make yourself look better. [sg-poppy]

I'm pretty sure there was actually no fog of war at some point in Leagues development, might have even made it's way into season 1.
Regardless, there is reason for fog of war, and to remove it would relinquish so many core elements in League. It will never be removed and that is not a bad thing.
Oh there is a reason is there? Mind telling me what reason could possibly be for restricting your sight? And they keep removing it! Remember when you could buy wards and place as many as you wanted? Now you can only have 3 on the field at a time and it is on a time limit when you can place them.
if there was fog of war, basically its teh same thing as saying knowing where everybody is, esp the jungler. where they are when they are doing objectives, when they backed etc. it would cause severe unbalance and it would make things way too easy. this is a strategy team game for a reason
How is being blind a strategy? Everyone complains about stealth in the game, but oh if graves dashes over a wall you didn't have a ward in that is okay. It is the same thing, you can't see him because Riot doesn't let you see them. They don't want you to see people, that's why they keep nerfing wards. What if you could see everything? The game would be played the same, you just can't cheese people by surprise ganks.

ok. so...vision is toggled off game starts...and you see everybody...you see 3 of them go to blue 2 go to their lanes. to side open. take their whole top jungle and leave when you see them coming. you see the jungler top side and youre on bot, you see the enemy backed and are in base, apparently afking. you take their tower.
with infinite vision, there would be no such thing as ganking, there would be no such thing as junglers, and there would be no such thing as roaming. because everybody can see you. it makes zero sene. if there was no FOW, the game would be too easy, and toddlers would play this...
Only, you can still roam with them seeing you. if your bot lane is pushed up and a Zed is coming you still have to back off if you don't want to die or you can try to fight him. your mid lane has to still make the choice of abandoning his farm to follow or to stay and keep up his CS and level. Nothing changes, it is the same set up as a MiA ping, you are just working off of more knowledge
But what if he's not roaming what if he's basing and using the fact that you can't see him to make you back off and relive pressure bot?
FOW is not a strategy it's a blockade designed to inhibit knowledge of your enemies whereabouts in order for you and them to use strategies to work around it. Such as ambushes, traps, safe recalls, escaping paths, or rotations. Similar things in game are tools like towers and fountains or walls none of these are strategic in themselves, but can allow for plans and strategy to be used around them.
FOW is designed to act as what you'd be able to see if you were actually that champion. (in addition allied champions/ wards/ additional vision tools like TF ult). So compared to an FPS games or real life. You get MORE vision in League than most games. To your point about light bending that's fine, but opaque objects exist that do not allow light to go through them and do not allow vision, the back of a caves is dark because light cant get there. Walls prevent light from getting to another room etc..
Removing something like FOW is like removing walls in an FPS or allowing player to see through them. Or saying that (american)football coaches are allowed to know the exact play another coach is doing. These remove strategy associated with the element of surprise.
Hmm, very good points. i'll meditate on these
