You shouldn't get a S on a support if you don't purchase a sightstone.
I've been playing in bronze ranked, where sightstones are nonexistent and I've seen supports get S's w/o buying a sightstone.

Flash news: The grading system isn't representative of how well you played.
It compares you against people of your rank instead of every rank. So a Bronze player can get an S for a game that would have netted a B- to a Platinum player.
It doesn't care about what actually happen in the game. If you lose, no matter how well you played, your grade is gonna suffer greatly.
It prioritize selfishness over teamplay. Steal your allies CS, build full damage, feeding kills to the enemy team in the process, doesn't matter so long as you do the most damage in the game, use your abilities for no reasons just to pad your numbers, suicide to get a tower, etc.
