Lore wise, Ryze continues to be one of my favorite characters...
....But man, I really wish he could be more useful in game in the earlier stages, especially in this meta.

The problem is that Ryze is literal cancer at high elo that dominates pro play, but is terrible anywhere else. If you buff him, then he is the only midlane that anyone picks in LCS. If you nerf him, then he is unplayable anywhere below platinum.
