Diving the ADC

I'm not sure how to prevent myself from getting murdered every time a Fizz, Shaco, Tryndamere, or any one of these dive happy champions,decide to blind dive me and actually leave alive.

Fizz, I hate that fish.
Shacco, can pink him and actually fight until full build. Then I'm f'ed. After full build I can't even stand behind back line. TRyndamere, just rage kills me.

You can insert other champions here.

Am I doing something wrong or should I expect more peel than I am receiving?

First off, there are safer ADC. It's easier to avoid that with a Tristana or a Caitlin or an Ezreal than with an Ashe or Kog'maw.

Second, you have Flash and Heal. Don't use Flash offensively to take a kill, because that means you'll die next team-fight, and one kill isn't worth a whole team fight. Mercurial Scimitar, Sterak, Maw of Malmorticus and other semi-defensive items also helps.

Third, and I mention it last on purpose, you have a team. Some times you just can't do anything, and you have to trust them.

Also, remember to check a few guides on how to properly position during a team fight. TL;DW: you should start by hitting whoever is in range while still staying safe, so most probably their Tanks, and don't commit and try to attack their carries too early or you'll die for nothing. Just output the free DPS you can, and wait for a good opportunity.
