Falling Rank

Last season I hit Gold 3. It was fairly easy and I didn't even play much ranked.

This season I decided that I was going to try and get Gold again and hopefully work towards Plat. I did my placements and was sent to Silver 4. No big deal. That seemed consistent with everyone's placements.

I main ADC and for some reason no matter how good I seem to do I can't get on a decent streak. I know I'm doing something wrong but I can;t help to think that maybe I should move from ADC to MID or Jungle. It seems the champions that are carrying games at my ELO are hardly ever at the ADC position. I have even tried changing up my ADC picks. Some successful some not so much. Kindof on tilt atm :/

I know that I need to make a change of some sort. I went from being able to climb to 5 games negative this season..... Thoughts and opinions please?

EDIT: Started climbing again. Changed up some Runes and went back to Caitlyn. Results have been more than satisfying. Win lane and win games.

So, a couple things. If you are on tilt, it might be wise to take a step away from the game for a bkt. A week or so, or however much time you need. I say that because I know I've been there, and it helped get back on track.

As far as roles go, I've never been able to easily carry as an adc. I've always liked mages and such a lot more. Find a champiom you are good with (and won't die much with ) and find a winning strategy. Is it roaming to help other lanes? Split pushing based on yours and enemy team comp? Etc.

I know this is all super general, but I'm not sure what to look at specifically for you.

I will explain why this is. The new reporting system has further doomed you casual/low elo players. Here is why: In later season you could carry most low elo games due to the que system and the fact you were better. The problem now is most of these kids get butt hurt by ANYTHING (yes literally ANYTHING someone says in chat) and they report them. Even if that player carries you and the fed all game. Therefore that player gets banned. This has happened on 2 of my smurf accounts. What this causes is the decent players ether A leaving league all together or B only playing with a team. So unless you are lucky enough to be that 5th member on their team in Q you get stuck with a bunch of low skilled solo players who have no hope playing against these premaid teams of good players.

Trust me this is what is happening I ONLY play on my main with at least 2 friends so that I don't fear these little baby kids qq'ing to Rito because I asked them to not feed lane. So the way I feel about it.....BAHAHHAHAHAHAH this is what all the low elo kids get, you want to cry and whine that someone carried you through a game but said something slightly negative to hurt your feelings, well now you can just stay in elo hell. How does that work for you.

(personally I'm not saying this is something youve done OP im just saying this is the state of dynamic que)

try to duo with someone who won't feed if they're in a bad lane. adc's are late game carries, so if you can ensure the game goes late you have a better chance to carry.

i checked your rune pages on lolking, they're all subpar. a typical adc page is ad reds, attack speed quints, armor yellows, and a mix of attack speed blues and mr blues. if you want to get real champ specific, it varies after that... some champs take ful 9 scaling mr blues others take more ad in quins than speed.

also right now, it might change assuming they try to tweak the masteries more, but you should be running either thunderlord's decree or ferver of battle on adc's. both help you win lane, which is what's real importat right now, and both are very relevant mid and late game while the crit mastery is only relevant if you're fed which won't happen if you take it heh.

You have to adapt to the ELO you are in.; the champions, playstyles and strategies which work well in Gold will not necessarily work in Silver.

From what I recall of my time in Silver last season, I identified four main weaknesses that I sought to exploit:

[1] Players typically have poor general skills in lane.

Players don't really know how to manage minion waves, trade proficiently, shut down opponents or roam. Due to this, it's really quite easy to get ahead as a mid- to late-game scaling champion (i.e. Wukong, Nasus, Irelia) without falling behind and even snowballing early.

Also, players often overextend or ward poorly so you can often get fed rather quickly when jungling if you have strong early ganks (i.e. Volibear, Xin Zhao, Kindred).

[2] Players tend to group around objectives constantly and/or at bad times (they don't rotate well).

Honestly, a lot of my matches devolved into essentially ARAM. Both teams would group around an objective (i.e. a tower, inhibitor, dragon, baron) and proceed to spend the next couple minutes walking around it and exchanging poke until somebody gets caught out or sloppily engages a teamfight. I got a lot of use out of Ziggs (mid) and Varus (ADC) during these times since I could easily disengage fights, poke them down, or pick someone off.

[3] Teams tend to lack durability and CC

This isn't always true but I ran into many teams composed highly of squishy, high-damage and low CC champions in Silver. To compensate for this, my champions would usually at least have one strong CC ability and/or some durability to fill this gap.

It's hilarious how having even one durable fighter/tank and/or some AoE CC can change a fight against a team of carries. The ability to engage/disengage fights or pick people off is massive.

[4] Very, very few people know how to support properly.

Support seems to be the role that people are usually forced into playing (at least before dynamic queue). As such, it was typically filled by a player inexperienced with the role and a good support could be extremely influential (since they didn't have to worry about the other support countering them).

As such, an experienced support player would (even with a poor ADC) be able to dominate bottom lane. After crushing the enemy bottom lane and when their ADC is back, supports can roam mid or support their jungler during an invade to spread their lead and get their other allies ahead while shutting down their enemies.

Obviously, I would recommend playing champions you love and who you are experienced with. However, I would recommend you take a look at what mistakes or trends appear during every game and think on how you can exploit them.

I can surely say this, which is that you should find at least one person to play with that will play a champ in any role with peel. If you're confident in your ability to carry then having someone that can assist you in victory by making it hard for the enemies to reach you will surely improve your games. This is what I've been doing with my friends. I main jungle and have a friend that can fill any other roles and carry in those roles. I myself can play hypercarries to much success but have a better winrate when I play Elise and Rek'Sai (my baes) because I can just peel and engage for my friends that will bring the damage to carry. I even buy sightstone on these 2 champs because I can play supportive and rely on my allies. It's essentially what is done in LCS. If you can get some friends that band together and treat ranked more or less like it's an LCS match by respecting who the carries are and protect the carries then you WILL win more (as long as you're as good as you say you are, which I believe).
