Can we give Wukong a passive effect on his W?

I feel that among all the stealth champions, his W is the least effective:

  • Twitch gains movement speed
  • Shaco kind of moves a bit forward when he uses his Q, and it lasts way too long
  • Evelynn just has it permanent if you don't get close to her
  • Teemo gains atk spd after he is visible again
  • Akali gets movement speed and her enemies are slown inside her 'smoke'
  • Not even talking about Rengar, Talon or Kha'zix, but at least that is their ultimate

Now, I know Wukong leaves a decoy behind that deals "damage" (is it really considered damage?), but I feel he's the only one with a bad stealth skill to use. He could also gain movement speed on that to get away faster or engage earlier, or at least if you're gonna leave it how it is just give the decoy much more damage to enemies hit by it. Maybe it could last longer? I don't feel like it'd be a buff to him but instead just giving him a proper kit. Any ideas?

Can use it to block abilities, can use it to cancel targeted abilities, can use it as a decoy in a few ways, and more importantly the stealth is mainly used as a window to escape from trades in lane and a decent way of waiting out CD's for another ability rotation. If anything this ability has more potential uses than almost any other similar ability.

Targeted abilities will still hit you if you press W after you've been targeted, just saying. Escaping is ridiculous, lasts like 2 seconds. In order to block abilities you have to be far from your decoy, to not receive the damage.

And also, add a horrible CD on that W, gg rito.

2 seconds is a lot.

Trenitaliyah1 votes

Yeah, it is. So tell Shaco how much his stealth lasts. If 2 seconds is a lot, imagine 4.5.

By the way, Wukong's W lasts 1.5 seconds. God.

Ralanr1 votes

You said 2, I assumed 2.

Trenitaliyah1 votes

It is 1.5, but it could have been 2 as well, all other champions with stealth stay invisible way longer than him.

Ralanr1 votes

Yeah, but their invisibility is their primary power usually.

What is WUkong primary power?

From an outsider perspective, I'd wager his ult and the ability to dip in and out of combat.

No idea why people are downvoting. A wukong rework is deeply necessary

You can still think that Wukong needs a rework, and not like this idea.

There is a lot of more subtle uses of Wukong's W I think. I never felt it lacking. It's similar to most other clones for deception... though I guess it will never move. I've seen that used to trick opponents too.

Trenitaliyah1 votes

Trick opponents is now its main effect, people don't use it anymore for anything else basically.

Chamuel852 votes

Yeah, that is true. It can also eat skill shots I think.

It also takes targeted abilities and auto attacks for you when used right.

I think the fact that it acts as a shield is a pretty big reason why his stealth isn't better.

Edit: shield isn't the right word but it has potential of wasting enemy abilities

It is good to have this decoy acting as a shield when, for example, Jayce throws his ranged Q. But it you instantly casts W you cannot go very far and you're hit as well, so it must be used like with mathematical precision. Another idea is that when Wukong casts his W he can't be damaged by others' abilities, that would be a nice shield effect on his W.

so u wanna give him a low CD Fizz E with stealth and a decoy? That doesn't sound op at all.

Trenitaliyah1 votes

Not really that low CD, imo. And beside that, why not? In this very moment Wukong is probably the champion with best potentiality in LoL yet it can't shine in this meta (or in the ones before, what was last time he was OP?).

Wukong one trick reporting in.

Wu doesn't really need anything else, he's fine as is. His W is already pretty good considering its mere presence alone can be used to mess with people. You don't even have to use it lol. Either pretend to run away by walking in a direction then pressing S, wait for them to chase then actually pop it and run the opposite direction. It can also be used to block skill shots, fake initiations, gap close from the fog of war, etc

ChaddyFantome1 votes

Wukong can press S to fake using his W. He doesn't need buffs to his W. the fracks pinks font reveal it anymore is already an inherent buff he probably didn't even need.

Trenitaliyah1 votes

So just because of the stealth effect, he doesn't need it? It is what he does he just doesn't get anything else beside stealth and it last like 2 seconds so it's VERY hard to use properly.

Im having trouble understanding why u are having trouble getting what i am saying here.

How is something being hard to use to its highest effect justified reason for it being buffed?

Wukong's W is primarily for the Decoy. The Stealth component is more for helping the ability have the right feel it is supposed to have.
