You get it, you can't balance the game equally around all skill levels.
You can't nerf Sona 'cause PrO's tAkE sOnA tArIc bOtLaNe, sO wE NeEd tO nErF hEr, gutting her in regular play.
I remember the old good times when the game was balanced from regular play.
Now you balance only when something is played (or not played enough) by your favourite chinese guy.
Sona is powerful in regular play, too, and probably does too much damage.
I welcome a change that lowers her toxic amounts of damage, especially if it leads to comp buffs down the line to her utility. I don't play Sona to burst people. Get burst mages out of bot lane.
Sona is powerful in pro. Sona has second highest winrate in the game. Sona has a huge playrate AND winrate in high elo. Sona had a decent playrate and big winrate in low elo.
Also he game was never balanced for regular play.. it was balanced for skilled play.
Sona is a bad example of a champion that you want to defend from a pro play nerf.
She is actually really strong all around, yes she is squishy but if you don't focus her you are almost guaranteed to lose and if you do focus her you may not have the damage to kill who she was helping.
Her ult is the only ability that she has to stop moving to use, she can influence a fight just fine without risking herself and auto attacking just when the only threat against her decided to use all of their abilities on someone else.
LOL sona is busted AF in every single division from iron 4 to Challenger and pro play. On top of that, she is not even hard to play.
I say gut the bitch to irrelevance. If you are nerfing pyke, you need to gut her real good.
Balancing around players that can play the game > balancing around noobs
Seems fair, big portion of balance is about high elo, not only proplay like many folks like to argue.
