They were withheld around a year ago because of visual bugs that needed to be worked on.

It's anyone's guess what's going on with them now, and chromas in general.

Around 4-5 months ago Ghostcrawler said there would be an announcement on chromas "very soon." We have heard nothing ever since.

If I had to guess, Riot is likely withholding a lot of the Chromas and will probably release them as free skins with the updated Mastery system.

I wanna see chromas again. I was hyped when I saw blucian teased, and many months later they FINALLY released chromas, only to have everyone complain about them, and now it seems they're gone again. :-(((( Seriously though maybe just because I've been playing since season 1 when "chromas" were like 975 skins, but I always thought they were a good deal and look really nice.

Chromas were only ever 520 RP. Full model changes were 975 RP.

Now, model changes are 750, while model changes with particle changes are 975. Chromas are now sold in packs, and are 590 RP.

what I mean is skins like swamp master kennen, toxic mundo, shamrock malph which would now be considered a chroma, were full priced skins. 520 got you one skin at absolute most, not three, in fact if memory serves they released for more than 520, and the chromas now look better than the recolors then anyway.
