I'm tired of seeing Yasuo every game

Nidalee SO NYAAA··38 votes·6,482 views

One thing I want to make clear I don't think he is op right maybe a bit overloaded but not op. I like to play mages like Lux and Syndra and see Yasuo every game in norms is just starting to gets old. You just keep up with so many thing when play him in lane. You have manage the wave really well you to know when his windwall is down you have to know when his passive shield is down. his just not very fun to play against when playing a mage.

play Fizz, Annie and Azir, they will fuck Yasuo. If you play Lux and Syndra you are going to have a bad time and probably lose.

Yeah, but in normals counterpicking is probably a bit hard.

Stars Shaper2 votes

Tbh, Lux has good chances to lure out Yasuo's wall and then unleash her combo when it's on CD. About Syndra she has some nice counterplay options too even if it puts her at risk. Against Yasuo there is a lot of mind games involved.

Also, most Yasuos in normals don't have a clear idea of what the wall does and will try to stop anything you throw at them. I've lost the count of how many Yasuo ppl tried to block my Xerath's Q, W and R.

From what I've seen he'll just e to dodge or kill Lux faster than Lux can kill him (because of Lux' cast times and reliance on autoattacks to make kills).

You can easily poke him down with skills without involving AA him outside of getting his shield down.

Timing ofc is vital, if he dashes towards you your Q is a sure kill. Manage your range and minion wave.

He'd usually just use the minion wave to dash to you and kill you though. Your dash doesn't stop his dash and if he's on top of you he will win the trade (and usually save his wall for those moments or to deny you skills.). Not sure how you easily poke a yasuo down when he just e's away from all skillshots. Maybe it's skill disparity (me being a bad lux, my mmr being higher so facing better yasuos) and/or bias. Not to mention he can easily just push you under turret to deny you farm since he scales better.

Though I admit bad yasuos are free food.

Considering Lux range you have plenty of space between you and the minions, punish him when he goes for last hits.

your autohit range is a regular 550 though. When he sees you casting your e he'll just e away.

But as I said, I'm probably just bad at that particular matchup and due to mmr usually face people that are better laners than I am (I'm shit at mechanics)

Stars Shaper1 votes

You don't need your AA to proc your passive. The poke from skills is enough. Use your AA just to proc his shield and wait for it to deplete. I have no problem doing it with Xerath (whose range is 525) and I've destroyed a couple of Yasuo even with Varus (whose skills are ALL blocked by the wall). It's just a matter of practice.

Xerath is much better vs yasuo though, I don't have many problems vs Yasuo as xerath either. That's because xerath has a stun to disengage (difference from lux's snare which allows him to get a few hits in). and he does much more damage than Lux while being way more mana efficient. And while having better waveclear

Stars Shaper1 votes

Xerath doesn't do more damage than Lux unless he lands all of his 6 shots.

And I said that even with Varus I had no probalems, it's just a matter of timing and mind games.

Browser ate my post three times in a row, so I'll keep it short.

That's a blatant lie pre-6, xer has lower cd's, an easier time managing mana, higher scalings, similar base and doesn't have all his pre6 skills nullified by windwall.

Post 6 it's slightly closer but xer retains his advantage in cds and mana. Who has higher damage will vary based on ability power and #of skills hit.

I hate to pull the elo card but Yasuo is a skill intensive champion, bad yasuos are free food. You were silver III last season. (You haven't played enough ranked this season, can't judge)

Not sure how varus relates to Lux as he's too different and I don't have experience as varus mid. But if it helps I used to stomp yasuos with nocturne mid.

Stars Shaper1 votes
  1. if you throw all your combo on a windwall, your fault Lux has an easier time luring it out while Yasuo only has to wait for Xerath to use his E and react.

  2. CDs and Mana don't affect damage but just the chance to deal it (on a long term ofc it has its weigh), also Xerath AA range is quite inferior and his ultimate doesn't clear the minion wave too.

  3. I'm a good Xerath and a decent Yasuo (I'd say good Yasuo compared with most of the ones I saw but meh, lets keep it down) so I know them 2 quite enough to understand them without the need to face a challenger Yasuo. My elo is what it is, I've never played ranked intensively and just done placements to see where it would place me (and getting major disappointed when winning 7/10 put me lower than winning 4/10 the previous season).

Now ofc a larger number of Yasuo I meet are ppl that really try to wall my Q or W but I've played him myself and I also met decent Yasuo players and I'm confident in my analysis.

  1. Varus shares the fact that all of his kit is shut down by Wind Wall, even his ultimate, (while Lux ulti isn't affected) plus his damage tool is telegraphed, the only advantage is the higher AA range.

I find it rather annoying when one champion being FOTM limits the champions you can play. I mainly play blind pick because I don't like the long champ select, but I really hate going mid now because there's about 50% chance of facing Yasuo now. Even when I play champs without any skillshots or projectiles, I still hate playing against this champ because he's just so freaking mobile and can dash at you, deal damage and dash away in less than half a second.

NewFoundAbility3 votes

Yasuo As a Yasuo main, I genuinely have not seen anyone else play him. Maybe it's because in my MMR nobody has the capacity to play enough to play him well... He does have a high skillcap.

Also, Lux is my most hated champion to play against... I would seem we have reached an impasse.

KatCraft2 votes

Lol please he does have a high skillcap but he's really easy to learn and play. He's like the safest melee champion you can play against a mage. His whole kit is designed to shit on midlaners 1v1.

And his whole team fighting comes down to how many sources of knock up your team has and what your composition is.

Celeste Benal2 votes

He is easy to learn and to play. He is hard to play well.

KatCraft2 votes

Not really, champions with more binary and simple kits are generally harder to play well like Annie for example. The more tools and loaded a kit is, the easier it is to play well. Because you just have more options available to you. Jax is another champion that's deceptively hard to play well.

Ferus and Ferrum3 votes

Annie is far less complicated and easier to be successful with in my opinion. If a champion is mobile and you open up with tibbers and miss that's your own fault. if you open up with q and then lay everything else on top of that you win pretty much. Annie is overpowered in my opinion but she is necessary to keep shit like yasuo/zed in check so I overlook her strength. Annie is pretty difficult to fail with unless you derp tibbers all over the place. Though flash reliant, her kit revolves around knowing when to target your stun on one person or when to rain death upon the entire enemy team with a fucking teddybear. If yas misses his third q in many melee and ranged matchups he loses access to his ultimate and all of his cc. Annie's cc is Garen teed in most scenarios. Annie also isn't hampered by a long cooldown to her only defensive ability. In fact the cooldown is so short and the mana cost is so minimal that the only thing she really uses it for in lane is to stack her passive outside of burst trading. To be fair Annie's defensive ability is WORLDS less potent than Yasuo's, but at the same time, windwall can be mistimed or mis-positioned resulting in diminished effectiveness. He also has to choose what to wall, because most teams aren't brain-dead enough to chuck everything into a 4 second windwall. He ends up having to choose between walling off sej ult to keep his team from getting engaged on in a bad spot, or zoning the adc, or cutting of their mid-range mage, keeping himself alive. There are countless possibilities. Annie pushes e and gets a mini thornmail on top of some resistances. That's it. The tibbers interaction makes it more useful, but basically if an adc is in range to auto Annie, unless their autospacing is flawless, they are already deadShen. The more binary champions are typically easier to play, and have a lower skill floor (no offense to anyone). Compare XinZhao to Jayce Both can build several items and have similar strengths, but who would you feel more comfortable taking into a game for the first time? Better yet ask the same question with Yasuo vs.Annie

I main Yasuo cause so far I have amazing CS scores by the end of the game. I feel safe when I play him... Next to Heimerdinger that is.

I don't know. He has a highskill cap. Since I've seen and done many times, one missed (Q), incorrectly timed Ult, or even (E)ing the wrong minion and dashing into the enemy can all be traced backed to the player. :/

Just because you make mistakes like you do with all champions doesn't make them high skillcap.

NewFoundAbility1 votes

No. I mean every champion has mistakes that you can make, but Yasuo has the lowest winrate (last time I checked) for a while.

I'm not saying he is hard, nor easy... But... Not a champion, even if you see a lot, makes them any better or worse than other champions... Vayne

I can't play and won't play ranked.

Rank doesn't matter, because the higher you go the bigger ego you get.

Lastly, I'm sorry, but I have depression and haven't played in a long while (Bots or customs don't count). I don't have the urge to play ranked even if I could.

Number 15 in terms of play rate is really high LOL and yes he is more overloaded than a lux. Shield, inifinite dashes, dash knock up, projectile knock up, double crit, and team wide ulti which can proc off of displacement abilities that don't even knock people up, for example, Lee Sins ult. Pretty overloaded compared to Lux.

Riiiiight that's totally why Lux gets played in pro play... oh wait she doesn't Yasuo does. This is what Lux has

  1. Extremely high mana costs
  2. Etremely high coodowns
  3. Extremely long cast animations
  4. No hard CC
  5. Mediocre waveclear

Xerath is honestly a better pick than her. That 75% AP ratio ult Lux has is fine want to know why? Because she has no mobility and around a one second cast time. I'm not calling Yasuo OP I'm just saying the kit is pretty beefy in comparison to Lux or "overloaded" which is the popular term around here.

57% winrate? Your numbers are absurd lol. Lux has a 52% winrate while Yasuo has a 50% across the board from Bronze to Challenger. Point I'm still trying to make is that Yasuo has way more to work with than Lux.

DogIsGod1 votes

Are you retarded?

DarthSpectrum2 votes

Well, Yasuo counters Lux and Syndra pretty hard.

Have you tried picking Akali , Diana , Malzahar , or Chogath against Yasuo? They are still AP with okay wave clear. You lack the range but you can 100-0 Yasuo easily.

Nidalee SO NYAAA1 votes

I have in ranked I'm talking about Norm modes like team builder and blind pick

DarthSpectrum1 votes

Well in norms, Yas is equally as likely to run into an Annie, whom he has absolutely no chance against as he runs into Ahri , whom he can counter easily.

Blind pick is mostly a gamble, and there are always champions that counters AP mid range mages. If Riot does by chance nerf Yasuo, you will struggle with Zed , Leblanc , or Fizz next.

Nidalee SO NYAAA1 votes

Zed I really don't too much issue with tbh. LB and Fizz are my worst nightmare.

I REALLY dont like Yasuo.. I mean.. Hes boring as hell (OPINION) and isnt just overloaded by almost broken.. Now see this:

  • No Mana
  • Double Crit
  • Op With ONE Item
  • Wind Wall (should get reworked/replaced)
  • Passive Shield
  • Dash (can dash between minions to catch you)
  • Low Cooldown on Q (Scales with AS)
  • Every Third Q is a tornado (which is annoying as hell)
  • His Ult (should only be able to trigger on targest HE knocked up)
  • E + Q Combo almost one shots

Anything ive missed?item 2043 Please tell me if im wrong..

Sorry for bad english :/
