imo, its the only way this could've happened. otherwise it would make no sense. Only other explanation is the challenger player bought his account LV.30 and only ranked so Normal MMR is trash because of the bots

The unranked player is also a possibility if thier mmr is bronze flavoured.

It's not terribly uncommon for high ranking (diamond+) players to have gold ish normals mmrs even without any sketchy account buying stuff, just since high ranks often do play mostly just ranked.

The other possibility is the bronze 5 is actually one of those weird accounts that dodge a lot in order to never rank up, but build up a high mmr for the lulz.

i duo with a season 6 masters/challenger player, currently diamond, and my account was bronze1 in solo/duo all season. Every game i played early preseason ranged from bronze1/diamond1

I beat c9 westrice in lane leading to a 15 min forfeit as a BRONZE 1 soloqueue player.........

All it takes is one duo to destroy matchmaking in normal games.
