In every champ select i get into everyone is crying like little kids because i play without flash and then they start to call me a troll, so am i a troll just for playing without flash or is it a bannable offense?

No it is not troll, nor bannable, as some champs, shaco summoner 4 summoner 14 or udyr and hec summoner 6 summoner 11 are every common. And many fighters can make better use of summoner 6 over summoner 4 and mostly being top lane summoner 12 is often taken. Just my two bits

Your teammates are just meta slaves. Do what works for you, if it's working then there's no reason to change it, especially not because some toddlers threw a fit that you won't do what they want.

No it's not reportable. You should be fine, the reform system won't punish you just for playing differently than others.

They are metaslave babies who don't understand the game beyond imitation. Mute and report if they are flaming you.

Not taking flash means your allies can flash and expect you to die when they've left the fight. Pretty much the best reason IMO to take it if you otherwise don't like it. If less people took flash, I think the players on average would be less selfish.

Truth is some people use their flash too often and then get hooked into all these CDR builds that aren't that great on some champions.

I run summoner 7 and summoner 3 on Soraka. If I'm warding properly and managing the heals, and sticking to the back lines until I'm needed in the fray, I find myself often not needing the flash. I also buy swiftness boots so that helps a bit on her.

no flash= bronze

The problem with Flash is that it is simply mandatory on every champ because everyone else has it.

Sure, you can chose not to take it but you are putting yourself at a decided disadvantage. Riot claims that they hate when certain aspects of the game become overbearing or they'll talk about how some items/abilities "crowd out" others, well... what about Flash, it's literally been the most popular summoner spell since day one and that hasn't changed. At this point we ought to have it as a permanent spell and allow us to have two different summoner spells.

just play. let them cry.

Colton1477/5/2017, 6:16:34 PM2 votes

You are welcome to play the way you want. :)

Certain champions are commonly seen without flash (Hecarim, Singed for example), so it is definitely not a form of trolling. :)

exhaust, smite, relic shield nunu. I would definitely call that trolling. barrier, janna, THE SHIELDING support, that is report heal on soraka, THE HEALING support. that is a report

This may be mean, but you legitimately need to learn to play. Your actions are blatantly taking wasteful actions and holding your team back and actively making it worse to play for them. Not only that but a clear showing that it is a repeated action would look like trolling to me.

Easy answer. Yes you are trolling. If you want to keep playing like that, go into blind normals, stop ruining the game for the others who have to deal with u.

BabyNaix7/5/2017, 9:27:56 PM2 votes

I actually never take flash. It's too easy to panic and flash the wrong way. I find heal, exhaust, or ghost much more useful.

Mysticman897/5/2017, 6:24:23 PM2 votes

On the vast majority of champions, not having flash is almost certainly suboptimal. A handful of champions might prefer ghost/ignite or ghost/smite or smite/ignite or ghost/tp, but they're pretty uncommon. Glancing at your match history, I'd say you're making a poor choice in choosing exhaust over flash in the vast majority of cases.

That said though, as long as you're legitimately trying to win, making poor decisions around your summoner choice isn't something you're going to be banned for. (Note that riot is pretty good at figuring out trolling from just being bad, so if you actually do know better and are just role playing a bronze 5 and intentionally making poor decisions, then it could still qualify as trolling and punishable in that regard.)

Flash is just to useful to not have. Not saying its bannable cause thats just ridiculous, but I pretty much never see anyone not take flash.

archerno17/5/2017, 6:26:34 PM1 votes

Well, its not banable but u are putting yourself in disadvantage on certain champions. Its ok if u do it on Shaco, Evelynn... but if u do it on immobile champions its really dangerous. For example u do it on Nunu or Ivern who are junglers that excel at invades. And invading without flash is risky. But considering u are in Bronze u are fine. They dont know how to punish it. But i just wanna point out your horrible winrates on Ivern and Bard and that u average 8 deaths per game with Bard. Maybe if u had Flash u wouldnt do so horrendous.

@thread If youre playing ranked without flash, then yes that could be considered trolling. If youre playing normals without flash, youre fine.

tbh though flash needs to be made a basic spell like recall. It is WAY to "integral" to the game for it not to be and has - for years - crowded out EVERY other summoner spell.

AlienPrimate7/6/2017, 11:06:06 AM1 votes

I'm actually slowly moving to ghost on a lot of top laners because the 3 minute cooldown instead of 5 minute cooldown.

DJMason887/5/2017, 9:16:33 PM1 votes

No, but it does help a lot (depending on who you are playing) For example, it isn't completely needed on champs like Hec, Shaco, Singed, and to a lesser extent, Udyr, Nasus, Darius or Shyvana. Who either work/interact better with another spell (usually summoner 6 ) or already have something like flash (think Shaco q or Shyvana r). And if you're playing an already Immobile/ doesn't interact with MS champ, you def. lose out a bit. Not reportable, but not something id recommend.

6Sfool7/5/2017, 10:22:19 PM1 votes

Question is, why aren't you taking flash? If you think that you're better off with another summoner spell go ahead, but if you're skipping flash on a champion that really needs it you're dragging your team down. And don't say it's a matter of preference, that's the same as saying you won't level up your ult until level 16 because you'd rather have the other spells, and that's just trolling.

I truly don't mind how crazy off-meta you feel like going, but there are some optimal choices that you make regardless, and usually taking flash is one of them.

PresidentPeewee7/6/2017, 1:09:30 AM1 votes

I'm surprised Olaf wasn't mentioned in champs but who don't take flash

BLACK REALM GOD7/6/2017, 1:10:05 AM1 votes

there are even riot players who do not use flash. if you get banned they get banned.

ChaoticPinecone7/6/2017, 4:47:53 AM1 votes

I dont think its bannable, but it could be pretty troll. It all depends on what you get instead.

summoner 12 summoner 14 ? Not so troll. summoner 11 summoner 14 ? Not so troll summoner 6 summoner 12 ? Not so troll summoner 11 summoner 12 on splitpushers? Not so troll.

summoner 13 summoner 7 ? Yeah - a bit troll.
