Why is everyone buying Boots of Swiftness?
How come people are all of a sudden by boots of swiftness, even on adc? i dont get why, someone please explain

There is no champion that doesn't like additional MS when it is only 500 gold combine cost from ordinary boots.
Look at marksman as an example - attack speed will make you land more autos? Yeah, so will additional movespeed as most of the time you are kiting or chasing.
And no matter the class, they make dodging skillshots soo much easier. For 800 gold total it's really a great deal.
Swifties are always useful. No matter what. No other boot can boast that. Not to mention, speed feels good.
some pro noticed they overbuffed them and now everybody does what everybody else does are they strong now? yes do you need them? depends
Merc Treads were nerfed hard.
Mercs got nerfed, and there are too many slows in the game with few ways to mitigate them. Kind of frustrating.
Honestly I think it's primarily due to Frost Queen's Claim's emergence.
The perma-slows from it being constantly activated by 2 or more enemies made Boots of swiftness REALLY useful, AND they're really cheap, AND the flat in-combat movement speed is better than boots of mobility offers.
Swifties may have been strong prior to FQC, but they were recognized due to the item's abuse. There are so many slows in league now, especially those that can be bought by items, that slow reduction is often nearly as good as tenacity. Then consider how much less tenacity you can access (the difference between 45% tenacity and 25% tenacity is huge for survivability) versus the 75% slow reduction and people realized that if they get CC'd even with tenacity they're probably still dead (not to mention the constant CC chaining because everyone has CC now), but if they can move a bit faster despite a slow they can still survive.
it's not directly all of a sudden. They've gotten cheaper in preseason while also giving more ms, and zerkers got more expensive. Also, many of the the common ADC don't scale that much with as. EZ, Lucian, Graves, Quinn, Jhin - non of them really gains that much from AS, and beeing faster than you opponents always is a big advantage.

a lot of champions have slows and now since there is a potential of 2 frost queen claims you need them to reduce the slow

they always were the best boots and only now when they became cheaper, noobs (everyone) noticed that they are actually good.
