I'll make this short and simple; What are the best things to get better at if I aim to get out of gold?

Map and macro awareness. You can solo carry gold by just playing the map correctly. Golds don't farm the map and move around towards engagements properly at all.
Improve decision making, baron timing and fast and coordiated rotations.
