The following are from a high-gold-low platinum player point of view.

Dear Riot,

I don't know what are you thinking most of the time with some champion changes or new items, but this is about the monster you have created. I am referring to the report system. I just ended a game in which i literally said: "after you get advantage bot, u get dragon..." and some dude said: "just asking, when are u going to stop being so toxic". Before that i have only said things to mobilize the team, NOTHING near a swear or degrading and i'm chat restricted for a LONG time, i can be really "toxic". Let's start with the word itself. It is by far the most common word in this game(i'm talking in gold-platinum, at least), abused beyond saving. What does that tell you? Is this community filled with intelligent people who are cerebral and think beyond some simple words, or are there stupid sheep who copy whichever is popular and don't WHATSOFUCKINGEVER thing beyond that, rapidly labeling things and not filtering at all? To support that, i'll give some very eloquent examples: many have ever been requested to be reported because i build on yasuo tanky vs a team full of cc and tanks(i'm not faker also) and not the build they see on pro players with ie(which play yasuo only when the enemy team has a permissive comp in that sense); the top players who pick smite without even knowing why(i also played a game in which vladimir top had smite, but never did he buy a jungler item whole game); the popular champs trend, some playing them without even having practiced at least 10 games; my bans being raged at because i don't ban the "popular" bans and i ban a gamewinning blitzcrank-hook in the end, because i know they are dumb fucks and won't dodge that so often. Do i need to continue? So you are telling me you leave these kind of people to decide if i get restricted? For what? Cause i'm "toxic"? Does that even mean something anymore? On the other hand, i'm not innocent. I can be really spiteful. Do you think i am so just because i can be? For every game one fucktard loses me(and i don't win 7/10 games only if i carry them hard), i basically lose 2:30-3 hours in the course of 3 matches:one for the last, which it's LP gain is nullified, one for the current game and one for the next game which MAYBE will restore my LP i had before all of this. So i am to be happy? U think it's because i have "a bad day", as you accuse in Warning? They lose me the game and i need to not even say a word? Are you serious? They have IGNORE option. Do they use it? No. They actually FIGHT with me, even though they are fucking solo losing the game, go ahead to try and make me feel somehow guilty for building something they don't have the brain to build, cause they are static-programmed sheep to only follow and try to copy the though-of-superiors, even though my score is 14-5-19 and their is 0-7-2. Score reading is also something which is really nice: they will often see only few kills and the deaths you have, NEVER the assists, going on to try to combat you with this argument. It's easier to go on full retard mode, call me toxic and spamming report than using ignore, right? I've had games in which i only called a dude "stupid". That's the motherfucking most basic think u can ignore, u use it at fucking 12 years old. Their response? "Report". Can you not see that you have entitled 14 years old to report every fucking little something they did not like? My friend got chat restricted for telling a lee sin that he must build tanky and not die first thing after he engages. Why is there even an ignore button? Do i fucking EVER report one dude who harasses me when i don't 100% carry and just fight with the team, do some nice engages, ward, u know, things they DON'T do and CANNOT see, not to mention appreciate. No. I just say "fuck em" and hit play again. Leaving the average age of the players in this community aside, i will tell you: yes, i'm frustrated and yes, i am easily triggered most of the time. Do you think i am the only one in this community? Is this your solution? You think restricting my chat will make it better? It will only frustrate me more because I now cannot even communicate what i need to communicate with my team. You think you can change a person like this? I want to play a nice fricking game after a hard day at school or working and i get teamed with a complete fucking retard who play shaco full ad jungle and MAYBE he does well in early game( MAAAAAYBEEEEEEEE ) and then falls off in late and, ON TOP of that, begin accusing others(mostly me, because....guess what...i've told him several times this will happen) that are losing the game, because he was doing fine.("this team"). And the next game, i get to have full ad critplank top? And after that i get to have 0-5-1 MID???? vladimir? And i have to remain calm? OF COURSE i will flame and be "toxic". It's called VENTING. And you know how u can ignore someone doing that? Well... FUCKING IGNORE HIM. I have recently restricted to play ranked and i know you couldn't care less, but i'm not that excited to play the game anymore. 35 wins in ranked maybe would have gotten me to higher platinum and play once in a while a game in which one is not 0-4 by min 10. Instead i am stuck with trolls in normals who "try" new things or practice their new champs and don't do that well, because they don't "try hard" in normals. Having the chat restricted was one thing, but this is the last straw. You ruined the game. I don't know why would you think leaving 14 year olds decide my play time will fix any of this. Flaming is perfectly normal, not all people are so balanced; i, for one, am neurotic, some just wanna get off after the whole day at a stressful job and some just like to be mean. You can VERY easily ignore them for 5 mins, not talk to him and trust me, he won't talk to himself, or if he does, even better because he will CALM down because he is VENTING and then unignore him. And you could always ignore them again for good if you see they are not interested in helping the team, only blame. I am very disappointed about what is happening at the moment in this game with this community and your solution is only making it worse. You will only make those kind of persons even more frustrated and angrier and so ruining the solo draft too. Please consider educating your users to use the ignore button the proper way, or at least get rid of it, free up some variable spaces and unnecessary processor instructions. It is getting out of control, or at least now i am sensing it. It has gone too far with the restrictions. After i get rid of them, what then? Do i need to ignore 10 persons every game and not talk to them? Be more cerebral please. Politics don't solve problems, they avoid them and your solution is even agravating it, in my opinion. I hope you read all of it and taken in consideration. Thank you!

Usually when people say things like "I only said [insert generic insult here]" or "I didn't even say anything bad" it's usually not true. They usually said some pretty bad things.

You're saying that you shouldn't be banned because people can ignore you when you decide to go toxic? At least, that's how I'm reading this.

I have another solution, don't be toxic. You won't get banned. That easy.

You want to "vent"? Do it in your own mind, say it out loud, don't type it in for the world to see. By your logic, you're expecting people to ignore you anyway, so why bother typing it in?

most people who play this game are pussies. they let people walk all over them and flame and feed. no way im letting mid blame me for them being 0-12. no way am i getting flamed at, ill flame back. im defending myself and i have full right to do so. why should i have to let something go? its not toxic to respond to something toxic. i fully agree with this post and the people who think you shouldnt stand up for yourself will downvote you. why mute em, they will still false report you and then the report stacks and the automated system restricts you anyways. then u email support and get an automated response. 1 toxic argument shouldnt get me 75 chat res 35 ranked when it was a normal game and the guy messaged my suicidal friend to kill himself.
