Nerf Infinity Edge - This will fix many issues in the current meta

This is going to be a short post - mainly because im too lazy to write a long one.

Caitlyn Twitch VayneJhin Draven are just doing absurd amounts of damage with their crits. With the prevelence of item 3031 item 3085 the player gains ~50% crit chance and proceeds to rape the entire team.

A simple nerf to the infinity edge will help fix this insane power these crit adcs offer (compared to all other inferior builds - ex. MissFortune Lucian Graves with their unique builds and play styles)

My plan:

  • Change from 70 AD to 80 AD (on completion)
  • Cost from 3600 to 3400
  • Critical Strike bonus damage from 50% to 20%

At the same time this will also nerf Yasuo for those complaining about him being soo op. Thats it, simple fix.

Edit: Lowered Crit Damage further, and decreased price by less

Gold Value

70 attack damage = Gold 2450
20% critical strike chance = Gold 800
    Total Gold Value = Gold 3250 

Gold Value with passive

20% critical strike chance = Gold 800 + Gold 400
    Gold Value = Gold 1200 Total = Gold 3650 

Gold Efficiency*

Infinity Edge is 90.28% gold efficient without its passive.
Infinity Edge's passive increases the gold value of all critical strike chance built by 50% (Assuming critical damage equals +100% AD, 1% critical strike chance is approximately equal to +1% AD on-hit. Higher critical damage directly affects on-hit damage and thus its gold value).
Therefore, its gold efficiency increases by 0.56% for every critical strike chance % built, including its own.
Infinity Edge is 101.39% gold efficient with its passive.

The item itself synergizes well with others based on its efficiency, by itself it's nothing exciting. But if we were to do your proposed changes:

Gold Value

80 attack damage = Gold 2800
20% critical strike chance = Gold 800
    Total Gold Value = Gold 3600 

Gold Value with passive

20% critical strike chance = Gold 800 + Gold 200
    Gold Value = Gold 1000 Total = Gold 3800

All at a cost of 3200, making it an even more efficient item(118.75% to be exact) to build just by itself.

Or just remove the crit chance from IE and Hurricane completely (adjusting the costs accordingly).

Or put an ICD on critical hits (regardless of crit chance) - talking, say, 2s in between crits.

How about they only reduce the IE passive to 20%, and add 5 AD without increasing the cost. If I did the math right according to Krisys that'd make it very little over 100% gold efficient.

IE really? so let's nerf everyone because a whole bunch of champions have been nerfed to the ground so instead of actually giving those champions power back you just want to make all the rest become terrible instead... yeah no
