"Talon looks like the type of dude ..." Really?

"Talon looks like the type of dude who would hang out on top of a building all day waiting to jump down and kill you. Just you. Nobody else."

Are you serious? Have you even played the games you claim to be referring to?

I'm here to kill you and your whole entourage... starting with you. You are the catalyst that sparks your team's demise, you are the target by which I make my first strike and once you die, your team will follow you to Hell. Each one quicker than the last. And you never know which of you I will strike down next.

OR after you, I will get away clean, if I must. You are only the priority, not the entire deal.

But in no means is it ONLY you that will be dying.

I built an incredibly efficient, incredibly effective ADC talon(attack speed, crit, full CDR, LS) for this reason and it was the most fun I've had in League since starting in season 2. It was the first build that actually capitalized on Talon's fantasy of who he's meant to be based off of.
Yes, you could stealth up on someone. But you could also duel nearly every one on the razor's edge of life and death once you did, or duel every one at once if you were constantly out of their awareness with superior movement and dodging/countering. (Just like the assassin you think you refer to). Skilled players could shut it down, and if you're behind, you tend to stay that way until you farm up to late game where you destroy all opposers. The major issue it ran into was the attitude of the community on having a melee adc, so flaming and troll picks in my lane were constant. Followed by needing a ranged champ in another role for sieging(which, given the state of ranged junglers isn't hard to come by.)

Here's the thing: the assassins from the game you refer to don't just kill one person and run away scared. They take out their target and stop for a moment, mission accomplished, then after their little cinematic, they go back into the fray and take down one person quickly then chain it into every other person around them, countering into killing blows when needed. They make one to seven really quick stabs and slices on each enemy and then suddenly they are already somewhere else cutting down someone else but they don't explode; they do it one at a time with superior movement, precision, awareness, and reflex time.

I once did this 65 times in a row without being interrupted in that game, don't tell me that I'm out to kill ONE person.

And THEN once the bodies lie still, they get out and blend in and tear down their wanted posters before they have to fight the whole town.

Talon is not just a tower diver into a bale of hay.

Hope you're paying attention, thanks.

In talon's lore he is actually like that, that's the point they didn't want talon dealing massive AOE anymore they wanted him to fill the role for a roaming assassin because not only is that in his lore it's the way people have built him for year's and it's shown to be effective. So they just wanted to give him the tools to be a better roamer and to more efficiently kill on target without it being accidental because lets face it Talon jumps into a team fight and can kill every squishy with just one skill rotation. He wasn't meant to be the team fighting 1v5 clean up assassin, that wasn't what they intended so their putting him the direction he's supposed to be in.

Katarina actually does kill multiple people at once in her lore, infact a whole group of soldier's so she's going to fill that teamfighting assassin role like she was supposed to, basically what you just described is what she's supposed to do not what he is so that's what this rework is about, separating the assassins into their intended roles .

What I'm saying is he shouldn't be an AoE bomb or "only kill one person." He should kill one person and then kill the next person and the next in quick succession.

So nerf aoe, buff single target offense and reflexive movement counterplay potential or uptime.

Then introduce Du Coateau finally as a strong counter to assassins. (I think they killed him off somewhere in lore though.)

Kat has one single target ability.

I'm saying Talon should have a lot more single target, but be relentless about it. That way whoever he isn't focusing can target him with other things, but he could immediately turn on them instead, allowing his original target to target him if they didn't die, or the other three to go after him. But if he succeeds in his job, assassinating, he could get a buff to make him stronger for a short duration when he kills. Not necessarily a reset.

Technically, teamfight gameplay would be more similar to Akali than Kat, but with separate tools like a slow/ms and counter teleports/dashes instead of choice teleports but his initiation would be more setup for roaming and sneaking into a superior position.

It's just riot REALLY trying to word their way through their Agenda with the champion change. They want katarina to be the premiere AoE assassin and Talon, while making sense thematically, they want each assassin to have a more unique identity and reason to be picked....even tho Talon is AD and Kata is AP... But i digress. Nothing to be done about it. As long as Talon is still Talon and doing Talon things after the change, I'm fine. But Riot is on shaky ground atm imo.
