Aurelion Sol Q

I've played A Sol since he came out, and both he and vel'koz have been my main champs. Lately, I've been playing ranked and primarily using vel'koz, because people don't like when i use A Sol, especially in the jg. I logged in today, saw the update, and I decided to test out the recent changes of A Sol in a practice match. I like and agree with the changes, but i noticed that his Q no longer casts using the minimap. Because i haven't been playing A Sol, i didn't notice this sooner. I vaguely remember riot saying that they changed which abilities could be cast using the minimap. Because of this, i seem to be unable to cast my Q accurately across the map. Do any of you guys think they should let A Sol's Q be cast using the map or not? Or does anyone have any tips on how i can aim better when using it across the map?
