Champion Nerfs

Okay i would like to know why Riot Nerfs characters that are "Overpowered" in the League series and not the over-played and overpowered regular champs. One of these examples are Zilean, you all know the deal. He wasn't played often, low pick rate and yet he is still got nerfed. They should nerf characters who are overplayed, and WAY TO POWERFUL in the average "league of legend" players to please the larger percentage of players. Because a game needs to satisfy its players........Am i wrong? What are your thoughts, i like to see what people are thinking, so i can change my mind or not :)

This is how riot actually looks at nerfs. It is better to lower champions to meet the same goal as other champions doing the same role and type. The issue comes when items screw up the game and make other champions that usually do other roles move over and take up different roles. AP tristana was a great example. She was made for ADC and overall was great, but her long range poke and insane burst made her AP fantastic to play in Season 4 in midlane as an AP, however she was a one trick pony and usually tanks were able to dive her after she killed her target so she needed a lot of peeling.

Overplayed should never be a reason to nerf.

zilean wasnt nerfed. the idea was to change him to make room for buffs.

if you make champions with ranged point and click pokes actually good, they become overbearing. turning his q into a zoning tool/skillshot gives riot a little more room to give him better numbers/tools and eventually make him viable.

he wont point and click poke with those bombs anymore, but being able to put them on the ground as a zoning tool, and adding a stun to them was clearly a buff in return for making them less reliable as a skillshot.

Yeah I shouldn't have said "Overplayed", I meant Overpowered to the point where the champion is overplayed.
