So Zed isnt allowed to cancel animations, but Riven is?

W - Living Shadow Fixed a bug where quickly casting Living Shadow and Razor Shuriken would cause Zed's Living Shadow to cast instantly, instead of using the cast time.

"While often seen as an 'advanced technique' for Zed, this bug actually just removed the ability to react to Razor Shuriken if cast a specific way. Zed's been on the brain for us recently (stronger marksmen = higher-value assassinations), but he shouldn't rely on an exploit for power."

So why is Zed getting this 'exploit' removed when he's not even the worst offender? Riven's whole skill ceiling revolves around being able to animation cancel to burst harder than would normally be allowed. And yet hers remains while Zed's is removed? Why?

Riven is canceling the ending parts of her spells after they did damage.

This bug was causing a spell to occur before its animation ever happened.

Riven can't do that. There's no cancel that makes the 3rd Q knock you up before riven flips.

Stopping ending portions of animations is not the same as eliminating a cast time.

The proper comparison is Caitlyn's E -> Q exploit.

This pisses me off, I hate Zed don't get me wrong. But Riven's original animation canceling was a bug that was discovered by a professional Riven player and Riot decided it was a cool mechanic and let it stick.

So why in the name of fucking lord Cthulhu do they let a bug stay on one of the most oppressive champions in lane yet not on others is beyond me.

Zed actually does have an animation cancel. His E doesn't interrupt autos so you can auto and E at the same time.

Probably because they don't want to make the same mistake twice.

Riven should be reworked though.

I agree with you, it's stupid they nerfing Zed but why the hell are you bringing Riven to the talk?
