Tanks are too team reliant, unplayable this season (because of team comps)

Hello how r u·7/31/2018, 12:39:18 AM·7 votes·6,077 views

I may need help on how to play these type of champions. (I play Sion)

This is what I hate about tanks the most. I can either get harassed whole game by the enemy and painfully watch us lose...or team can cooperate which barely happens.

But it's hard to cooperate at all. Everyone just cares about daaamge, fuking damage everywhere, everyone is dying in 0.5 seconds, while I charge Sion's 'q', fight just finishes. We've got fuking mages bot, assassins everywhere, mobile champions only. ...no strategy, just brainless one shotting and all in. When we lose or even win I'm so disgusted, the fights are terrible.

Like seriously what do I do? I'm completely clueless.

My plan is to go "font of life" rune and buy ardent censer or athene's unholy grail, some slow items....to be at least useful. But it still doesn't help, so I don't know. For me personally Sion is unplayable.

I also don't understand why the towers are so weak, it encourages players to just brainlessly push their lane, because towers get knocked down in seconds. I leave top to team fight for 1.5 minutes and enemy trynd doesn't give a fuk and just pushes lane... takes down 2 towers and is sieging our base...in like 1.5 minutes. We have to recall so he won't take our inhib...and more than one person has to recall because trynd deletes anyone.

Tanks are meant to be team reliant. That's what the trade off is. Fat and allot of CC for less damage. Instead you're an enabler. You allow your team to carry you by getting them fed (jungler) and keeping them safe in team fights. And I honestly like this about them, I love getting my team fed and leading the charge. Sure sometimes it doesn't work out.

But when we give tanks too much damage, we end up with Ornn, season 5/6/7 top lane Nautilus, cinderhulk Sejuani in s5. Gragas current, J4 current (tbh has he ever been a tank?).

And tbh you'd be better off with item 3190 item 3107 than athenes and ardent. Or just go flat tank without those items.

Give Naut, zac, sej jg a go but take ignite over flash, as it allows you to fight for crabs

Bring tanks back to the jungle, and shit will b allgood

I agree; revert Ornn's damage nerfs and give him his Unstoppable back... Perhaps also giving him 100% damage reduction (including true damage) on his W as well.

No tanks aren't viable thanks to conqueror making anyone who builds damage completely negate almost all of their tank stats that they build putting them at a gold disadvantage before they even get in the game.

To be fair tanks are supposed to be team reliant, not saying they aren't weak though. Juggernauts are who you would want play if you want to be both durable and self-sufficent in fights.

How can you be in Plat and think buying Unholy Grail for use with Font of Life on Sion is a good idea? Black Cleaver for HP+AD+CDR Boots Defensive item (Deadmans, Omen, Spirit Visage, etc) Sterak's Guage Defense item (Another from the above. Warmogs, Sunfire, etc.) Atma's Impaler (when eventually released)

lol. Go play a marksman. Then comlpain about feeling unplayable / useless. Your team will lose the game as you get camped, and still flame you for not hard carrying them.

Only thing unplayable right now is adc in solo queue as most teammates don't have the brain power to work around what is still the highest dps champions.

I've been playing my last few Sion games in the jungle

The Q flat damage buffs really help his early clear. You basically walk into wolf/raptor camp and clear it and end up with more health than you started because of your aoes triggering Talisman health drain.

And even though you are team dependant, you can play smart and gank early to set your mates up to carry you later on. The number of times I stop a teammate from feeding because I just walk into lane (and do nothing but show up) and the enemy jungler is like "oh, yeah, I'm not going to mess with that under tower" is surprisingly effective.

What's strangest though, is the item path I've been following is to go Cinderhulk right into a titanic hydra (and then usually a warmogs or spirit visage or thornmail depending on who's the biggest dmg on the enemy team or if they have an annoying healer). Yep, no resists beyond boots for my core (and the boot is 99% of the time a ninja tabis). The tiamat works surprisingly well than cdr; they buffed his Q ad ratios so building ad from that tiamat feels good, and the tiamat/hydra cleave aoe make up for your horrible lategame jungle clear speeds (since your Q and W start to fall off after 20 minutes for clearing camps). And I guess this is probably because of all the true damage, but just stacking straight health from the get go until you have a comfortable 3k-4k hp just seems to work. Even % health damage, the thing about % health damage is it's balanced to kill you after 10-20 seconds which is plenty of time to do your thing and set up and kill'em.

Huh adc mains overracting and saying that their champs are unplayable.

Tanks are weak, not unplayable.

My friend one tricked sion into platinum less than a month ago from Silver 5. Sorry but this is just incorrect. Also he did it with 3 different builds in 4 different positions xD

Imo game is more interesting when champs Darius, Irelia, Fiora, Renekton, Gnar, Rumble, Jax, Kled etc are the meta in top lane. Atleast those champions require to do more than just sit in teamfights being unkillable.

Why are you building ardent sensor on Sion?
