He's powerful in the right hands

Anyone with a ranged stun is powerful in the right hands

He has a better version of Draven's passive, strong map control, nifty wave clear, and that amazing gold-card stun

knock 'em dead

Faker used to say it was the first champ every mid laner should learn.

Roaming and hard cc are very powerful tools in solo q, and TF, has both so I would say yes. Just don't pick him into counters like fizz, zed etc. You want to play him into match ups where you have the space to push minion waves and look for ult plays in sidelanes.

His roams can be deadly if he catches sidelanes unawares. He's not flashy but he's wicked-scary in the right hands. Him and Shen are champs that reward great map awareness.

If you are good at map awareness and timing he is.
