Why is my ping better in the EU west over NA

So I live in Maine. Get decent pin of roughly 70-80 ms not the best but far from the worst.

But I get 60-70 ms when i play on EU west.

Any clue why?

You don't live where you always thought you did

The best guess and most logical answer is you are having an easier time sending and receiving data with the servers over the ocean in the EU west, than you are sending data over land to the Chicago servers for NA.
