Azir, how to fix him in the short and possibly long term, with minimal effort.
I just saw a post that Riot said they were not going to work on 3, champs anymore. Ryze, Kalista and Azir, because they had already sunk way to much time into them, and the game would be better if they focused elsewhere. This is halarious to me, because I cant remember the last time Kalista or Azir had a patch/significant fix. So they are going to leave them broken/weak. Understandable however, as they need to focus on other things (you people sure as X-Lax gives the hershey squirts, spend a ton of time on Ezreal though. Seems like he gets some tweek every freaking weak) While I dont know a ton about Ryze or Kalista, I was an Azir main for a while until Riot Nerfed the hell outta him, which he needed honestly, but they went to far, and now he is no good early to mid game. Late game, he still is a boss, because he becomes like a kog maw, the hyper carry that nobody can kill. But early game, and mid game, he is really weak. So this, coming from an Azir main, who has played plenty of games to know his general mechanics and strengths and weaknesses, is how I think he should be fixed, at least for now. Keep his base normal attack range as low as maybe Thresh. Extend his command range to 660-680 with his Sand Soldiers (just longer than Caytlin 650 range) so he has a safe way to farm, but it is easy to counter, which will be explained later, and extend his q range to 700-720. His Soldiers make him almost ADC-ish, however, unlike a real adc, where they can attack X-range around them in a 360 degree circle, Azir can only do this where is soldiers are planted. Meaning position is everything, and that can easily be played around, especially at lower levels where q cooldown is longer, and he can only move soldiers so much. Now if this doesnt apeal to you, keep his range the same, but up his base armor and MR early game. Azir has the LOWEST base armor of anyone in the game at 18. Heck even Ezreal has a base of 22 (but he has an escape). Anivia has a base at 21. Arhi, has a base MR and Armor of 22. I mean KOG MAW the squishiest/least mobile ADC in the game has 24 armor and 30 MR level 1. You made Azir have to come into attack range, almost basic attack range for anyone, without upping his armor. So one zed q at level 2 takes you down to 60% life. So by doing one of these two things, you buff him, but also dont make him OP. If you do range, the enemy can out play him, but knows that its a high risk high reward. They maneuver around his soldiers, which remember, does't have that much longer range than most mage q abilities, or a Caytlin auto, land a few shots, and boom. He lost the trade. If they messed up, they will feel the pain, but only as long as they are in the soldiers circle, thats very easy to get out of early game, they take minimum damage. You do this just like you do vs an adc. but its even easier because Azir can only attack in his soldiers circle. But you have made Azir safe-er in the early game, without making him OP. If you just up his base tank, by I dont know, 5 -8 early game on MR and Armor, like normal mages, and leave his range, Azir can trade, without getting eaten alive by 1 ability or a few aa's.
Boom, thats it RIOT. That's honestly how to fix Azir for the time being, without making him OP
