Lack of Blue Essence

So I have been playing a bit and I feel like trying to unlock the champions you like is now impossible, In the past 5 or so level ups my crate has dropped me 450 - 500 ip each, and no champion shards, I feel like riot is giving me the middle finger and just trying to make me buy riot points for the champions I want, as someone who has played this game since the beginning I think if riot wants this game to stay popular they should stop with these cash grab tactics and pay attention to what the players want (within reason).
