Why is there no big spell vamp item?
The only thing for pur mages who want some life steal is will of the ancient and its pretty lackluster
Why is there no diversity in spell vamp items other than gunblade and wota?

Because anybody who wants to build spell vamp makes it broken cancer.
Riot doesn't like this guy 
. Strong spell vamp items make him really hard to deal with.
There was a point in time, where riot really didn't like the mechanics of Spell vamp, and Life steal. So they tried to institute weird ways of gaining life, like with the old changes to Dorans blade, and changing 
passive from spellvamp to a specific number base. Plus, 
became incredibly strong with the Hextech Revolver so they nerfed it. :( I love my spell vamp.
