IS the player base dominated by PC whiners?

When a simple statement of advice to perhaps help someone improve somehow is toxic. One of the most overused words in a typical LoL player's vocab. It's rather sad that everything is considered toxic within the player base. Sorry but if you're trying to fight the other laner in mid constantly without even trying to farm and someone says "you should try playing back a bit focus on farm and trade when it's most appropriate" and is met with complete irrationality by the other player.

Personally I don't bother giving advice anymore, it's not worth the crying, but I seen a teammate trying to help a dude out by giving him some pretty constructive criticism and him being told off and being called toxic is so stupid.

I wonder if riot can be held to blame? I don't know who is but I know Riot pretty much thinks everything is toxic and advocates against toxicity to an extreme degree which can sometimes be considered a bit over-the-top. Perhaps it's not riot but the player base it's self. I don't know, I think we should take a breath and truly try to understand what it means to flame someone and be toxic. Difference between Tyler1 toxic and hey I'm just giving you some advice chill the F out. Food for thought.

Once I wanted to get the team work ribbon since no one ever honors in the game, so I tried being super friendly and would give advice when I could and then the dude flipped out. I think people think they're practically perfect and don't make many mistakes so they get mad when someone suggests doing something different

i kid you not, i went in a d3 game where i was ganked 4 times by the enemy jungler and all i said was "hecarim please come pressure top if you show then they wont push up for free anymore".

got muted by 4 people who then ignored my lane all game and watched me fall behind.

i then tilted off the earth and started splitting to carry them where the end game came and they flamed me saying iw as toxic af and hecarim was the victim.

fucking disgusting.

2 of them had everyone muted from minute 1 where they /mute all but somehow they knew what i was saying ... ????????????????

That depends. Is your 'simple statement of advice' worded as:

'Next time ult a little sooner so we can help you.'

or

'you stupid piece of shit, doesn't know how to ult at the right time lol'

Food for thought.

People that claim they aren't being toxic are rarely telling the full story.
