What do i have to do to get an S+!?

I quite enjoy the ranking system implemented into league of legends. Having the game assess you after your play to give you a rank on your gameplay is not only challenging but fulfilling when you finally see that sweet sweet S. But I have an issue; what are the criteria for getting an S? I've had 3 games in the last couple of weeks that, in my opinion, have been S worthy games. But the game says otherwise. Maokai: 19/1/20 with 131 cs (34:57), Maokai: 20/3/11 with 225 cs (43:14) and Ekko 15/2/5 with 144 cs. all A+. tantalizing it was every time, as I felt as a player I was growing but game thought otherwise. None of this would even be something worth mentioning if it weren't for the games that were called A+ games as well. Yorick 1/3/1 with 155cs (21:38), and thresh 2/0/15 with 17 cs.

are the games that I carry away with nearly 40 involvements in kills throughout, the same as those I lose lane to farm the rest of the game just to stay in it? Is there no distinguishable difference between a mid who beats lane by a handful of kills, and a thresh who does nothing but set them? Am I missing some sort of criteria that would more clearly outline how an S can be achieved in each role? Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

CS plays a massive factor in getting S ranks and from the scores you've given me in that time, you need way, way more.

Your yorick "Yorick 1/3/1 with 155cs (21:38)" has more cs than your maokai "Maokai: 19/1/20 with 131 cs (34:57)" in a shorter period of time.

Your CS is kinda shit, dude.

There are a lot of factors that are taken into account when scoring player performance, for example: KDA, kill participation, gold earned, damage dealt to champions, etc. Those are the obvious performance measurements, but no one actually knows how heavily each one weighs on your final score because Riot hasn't made that information public. I'd recommend doing your best to die as little as possible, participate in every kill possible and farm well. Overall, just try to do your best to have as clean a game as possible and hope for the best.

Creep score. I've gotten an S on Rek Sai (back when she was still really strong) just by getting about 400 cs. I had a KDA looking something like 7/4/9

CS per minute is often the biggest factor in individual play scores. The algorithm likely accounts for KDA rates as part of how the whole team played, so if the average KDA of the team was low, but yours was higher than the average a bad game wouldn't count against you as much.

CS per minute though is typically a good gauge of your individual play, how well you command your lane or the efficiency of your jungle path, etc etc.

If you're playing jungle, your kill participation rate (K%) is a huge factor in your S ratings as well. Low kills, low deaths, high assists, with good farm is typically the best way to get an 'S'.

19/1/20 Maokai match: Very low CS and poor vision contribution. Purchased a single Control Ward in over half an hour of a match, and only placed 14 Vision Wards total.

20/3/11 Maokai match: Very low CS, again. Even worse vision contribution — zero Control Wards, only 8 Vision Wards.

15/2/5 Ekko match: Low CS, low wards. 1 Control Ward, 11 Vision Wards.

Work on your ability to collect farm and place vision. K/D/A score is far from the sole determining factor in your mastery ranking, let alone whether you win or lose a match.
