Let me put it this way, I buy item 3071 on Kalista now instead

Are you sure? I just did the math behind having 340AD attacking a 300 armour target. with old LW you'll deal 188 per auto(no crit) the new LW will deal 155-177 damage.

It's basically useless vs squishies since they don't build armour items and it's nerfed heavily for high armour targets, I think.

well its extremely cheap right now and its one upgrade gives you +15% to all physical damage dealt, which definitely outclasses old LW's damage.

tho i think the cheap price on the un-upgraded LW is what makes it king right now.

I'm sorry, let me clarify, I didn't say that properly at all. I did the math on Lord Dominik vs old LW and assumed the target had 100 base armour.

Lets see, if we factor the target has 50 base armour and 200 bonus, old LW will deal 226 damage at 340AD. Lord Dom will do between 200-230. I'm sure you'd agree 200 bonus armour is quite a lot. It's at least 3 armour items. Or two armour items plus runes and masteries.

New LW alone in the first example would deal 135 damage per auto. In the second example with 50 base armour it would deal 180. This is considering LW has 325AD. So, insofar you're right, it's a good quick cheap item to build to cut through bonus armour. Lord Dom's build path will do more damage during the build path than old LW's build path, to high bonus armoured champions, but once you finish the build it's worse against pretty much everything.

ah thats really interesting, so even tho its so expensive, its STILL worse? well i never even once upgraded last whisper yet and this certainly will not make me do that D;

i really like the cheap lw but i can understand people crying about it because people cry about everything.
