Veigar's Math Lesson on AP Gold Efficiency!

After browsing some threads, I randomly came up with this idea because I'm bored, so bear with me.

Every stat in the game is worth some amount of gold, and we can generally use the cheaper items to calculate their efficiency. So I wanted to talk about AP.

Using Amplifying Tome item 1052 , which costs 435 gold and gives 20 AP, we can assume that the worth of 1 point of AP is 21.75 gold.

With this in mind, look at Veigar's Veigar new passive. Along with last hitting with Q giving him AP, he now gains AP from simply hitting an enemy champion with ANY of his abilities. Hit a champion with Q? 1 AP. Hit them with W? 1 AP. Landed your E stun and hit your Q, W, and R, netting you the kill? 7 AP, because getting a kill, or "takedown", also nets you an additional 3 AP, plus 4 AP from landing all 4 of Veigar's abilities. So along with the 300 gold (assuming its not first blood) that you get from a kill, you've also gained 152.25 golds worth of AP.

Wait, whaaaat? 452.25 gold from getting a kill, huh? Sounds pretty evil to me~

Also remember that you gain AP from hitting EACH enemy champion with an ability. That means you could hit the entire enemy team with W and E and gain 10 AP right there, equaling 217.5 worth of gold. Now imagine if that W killed all 5 of them.... mehehehehe!

I also wanted to talk about my hat. Err... I mean Rabadon's hat item 3089 .

This thing is actually a funky item to rush. Not including the passive, the 120 AP it gives is only worth 2610 gold. Add in the +35% additional AP and it only increases itself by 42 AP, worth 913.5 gold. All of that totaling only 3073.5 gold for an item that costs 3800 gold. So yeah, getting this item first is a terrible idea most of the time, as its mostly efficient as an item much later in your build, and never as a first item.

But... do you realize that the worth of Rabadon's is, quite literally, infinitely valuable on Veigar Veigar ?

Rabadon's increases the worth of each point of AP by 35%, effectively making Veigar gain 1.35 AP every time he gains a stack of Phenomenal Evil. That means that golds worth of each point of AP is now 27 gold instead of 21.75 gold. May not seem like a lot, but keep in mind how much better Veigar stacks... ;3

I've found that in a good decent Veigar game, I'll have 100 AP from my Phenomenal Evil passive alone at around 12-14 minutes into the game, which is 2175 golds worth of AP. All of that gold, not even counting all the gold from passive gold generation, last hitting, and any towers, kills, or assists you may have gotten at that time. I find that I enjoy getting Rabadon's Deathcap as a SECOND item on Veigar, which makes him quite evil indeed...~

EDIT: I forgot to add in... that Blue Buff now also increases AP by 15%, and the Infernal Dragon increases by an additional 8/16/24% based on stacks... c;

But, I mean, Veigar is the greatest Evil to ever strike at the heart of Runeterra... and he's only going to get bigger!

Mehehehehehe! :3

Thank you for reading~

That's one of the quotes when using that skin, it's a reference to a really old game that was poorly translated into english, same one all your base are belong to us came from.

So, here's a fun question: Since you can get AP for free, are you better off building tank items on Veigar than Mage items?

no, you're better off building tank items lategame or replacing your items gradually in order to not overkill squishies.

Pretty much xd If you build tons of AP, not even tanks will be able to get enough MR for Veigar !

I've seen this somewhere before, but the answer is pretty much no. In a really good Veigar game, around 30-40 mins with the new passive you may get around 300 AP from the passive alone.

That's not gonna be enough for Veigar to be able to nuke squishies, so you can't just ignore AP items entirely D:

It DOES mean you can be somewhat more flexible with what you build, however... ~
