Can We Please Talk About Zyra?

Hello everyone :)

I was just looking for some insight from riot or even some players if I have missed something. I used to be a huge Zyra mid fan back around her hay day. As of recently I can see her stats have dwindled quite significantly on champion.gg . In addition when I tried playing her more a few months back I found her a bit lackluster compared to some of the "balanced" mids. Not even some of the hyper carries. I just miss playing her as one of my main mid picks and honestly I miss her presence in the game. Is there any plans of improving her in the future? Any plans on changing her up a bit? I am just disappointed at her current state.

I think Zyra would be fine if her plant AI was fixed. Her plant AI is still pathetically buggy and it doesn't do what you want most of the time. If Zyra's plants simply focused enemy champions I am more than sure Zyra would become a strong Mid pick again. This and maybe her base movement speed or health getting some buffs would make her a significantly more viable Mid laner.

Right now Zyra's plants are just goofy. You summon them and they don't even care about the enemy champions, they're content with shoving your lane in and giving the enemy laner a free 5g while they're at it. When you switch targets they act confused and just stand there sometimes, and sometimes they just flat out don't act anything. If Zyra's plants simply prioritized enemy champions, Zyra's mid lane capability would see an enormous improvement.

She's not garbage nor is she crazy op, but in the right hands she can perform really well. I'm speaking specifically from a Zyra mid standpoint. I haven't played enough of her in support role to comment on that.

There isn't much reason to pick her over Azir Anivia right now though.

I do think she's pretty underrated right now. Also since she is underplayed, most enemies will not be familiar with the matchup and you can use that to your advantage. She starts to fall off around low Diamond I would say, but anywhere below that she can stomp pretty regularly. Diamond+ any of the above listed champs will perform better since they have better ways to cover their weaknesses in their kits.

Actually, when they made the mana changes, they considered zyra as a "support", so she got her mana regen buffed instead of her mana pool, wich is an advantage. Now that doran increases basa mana regen instead of giving flat regen, zyra can utilise this well with her now high base mana regen and spam her spells easily in lane to poke her opponent. Moreover, thunderlord IS op and she can proc it easily with one spell and 2 flowers.

Her damage output is, in my opinion, actualy pretty good. Let's say you land a q+e+w+w, even if the scaling on you q and e aren't amazing, they are still decent and the flowers compensate for it with their sustained long ranged damage. She is even more amazing with item 3116 , the slow on her w+q is amazing for the range it has.

However, i feel like flowers are still too "dumb" for the resistance and duration they have, I would be happy if they would automaticaly target champions but get nerfed on their durration, since they usualy end up hitting minions for 3-4 seconds before dying because once a champion get out of range, they stop attacking him until you auto attack him, wich is risquy since you are one squishy motherfuckeress.

Her ult is an amazing dissengage/wombo and the effect on plants is amazing.

Another perk of playing zyra mid is people WILL underestimate you and you will make them pay for that.

The only change I want for Zyra is to make her more like a plant cause right now shes just a suicide mage to most people perhaps change the passive and also W

I main Zyra. Honestly I pretty much just play her as i don't have the time to mess around anymore and I find her fun. There's a few items I'd like to see done. Nothing huge. Her MS speed is fine. Her passive, to me, is useful in like 25% of the situations. That 2 second delay is litarally long enough for the enemy to walk off in the fog of war or outright walk out of distance. And still I'm fine with that, although wasteful.

What I'd like to see is her plant AI fixed. So by merely clicking on the enemy from a distance you set priority for enemy champions. If they move out plant range they switch to minions automatically. If you get attacked, they automatically target the attacker in range.

I'd also like to see her plant timers last longer or give them more base life or have scalability off items that effect IAS to a small degree. Again nothing huge but increased. She has no escape in her entire kit. She does have a disengage for team fights though. It's time to have her primary role as a mid laner returned. I want to see her in the LCS blowing peeps up once again. She's been on a break long enough. Let the plants rain down!

she is still one of the strongest champions and deals insane damage. maybe champion.gg can just give every champion an 80% winrate so noobs are happy

She's got a great bush .... and foliage. I'd like to have 'her' in my garden ... if you know what I mean.

I am just disappointed at her current state.

I tend to agree. She got nerfed too hard in the last set of changes she received.
