Thresh 1 Trick Q/A

Hello, I'm a thresh 1 trick! I normally sit around like 200 lp master with around a 60-65% winrate on thresh, and peaked challenger 370, but as you can see from the name I get perma banned quite frequently because I'm slightly toxic. Despite that, I still do enjoy teaching people how to play my favorite champion, and would love to answer any and all questions you might have, while hopefully making up for some of the negativity I've contributed to in the League community.

If you want another mad man hunting you down, I can hook you up with Gru and his gorls.

Or you can hook them yourself since youre a thresh main.

They gutted relic shield on thresh a while back and halved the healing he gets from it which was a fairly large nerf, but I still take shield most of the time.

Even though coin has better gold generation imo, I have a very aggressive playstyle and the extra heal even when halved, and the health it gives is really useful for all ins. Which is why I take shield over coin in most matchups.

However, due to the extra gold gen you get with coin, in harder lanes where you get punished for being aggressive more ( Braum Alistar more braum over alistar) or a good Morgana (I take relic into morg until around d3/d2 or if I'm playing against a morg 1 trick) I take coin. Sometimes against really passive lanes that can farm from a distance, I will take coin as well. The extra gold gen really helps, and since you won't be fighting in lane to make use of the extra health of relic shield, you're better off taking coin to get your sightstone faster and to speed out your first item.

In lower elo where players aren't as good at punishing aggression, relic even into a braum for example might still be correct because most bot lanes just turn into a bloodfest at around the 3 minute mark, but as you get higher coin becomes more and more viable in more passive/agression-punishing lanes.
