Varus vs Kalista
I'm deciding on one of these two for playing adc. I tried Varus and had fun with him during free to play, but I also looked at Kalista's kit, and oh boy does she look fun. Any thoughts on who to get?

Kalista is stronger right now based on the meta but those two aren't really similar. Varus relies on poking opponents down while Kalista relies on kiting and whittling down enemies before pulling your 50 spears out of their chests.
Can;t make you decide, but i main Varus i tbh for me, whoever you decided to buy will be a great purchase.
Kalista is probably the better option. Her ultimate offers initiation and a save, her mobility lets her kite many melee champions with easy, her W provides strong in-lane trades and vision, and she can fit into many team compositions.
If you plan to play her, I would probably recommend rebinding your AttackMoveClick to something more convenient (i.e. a mouse button).
Personally, I love Varus and he's the main ADC I play when I have to fill the role. I like his theme, his lore, his kit, and his play-style. However, he has no mobility and is vulnerable to ganks/dives.
Varus is a very standard ADC, and he's simple and fun to use; On the flip side, Kalista needs a bit more attention to master, and isn't one of those pick-up-and-win champs. Timing is everything with her. You have to time when to hit to trigger her W passive, you have to time when you've plugged them with enough Spears to rip them out with E, and you have to have great timing to make her ult effective. Most of all, you have to really learn Martial Poise. It's tricky to learn, and starting out, you'll end up going every direction you don't want to go just yet, so be careful of that. Though, once you do master her, she's a great ADC who's good at sustained damage and chasing down foes as opposed to bursty ones like Caitlyn, Graves, and Jhin.
Varus can be brought midlane and depending on teamcomp he can be really well performing (inbuilt %HP damage and grevious wounds) but as botlane performance Kalista is superior.
Kalista's rly hard to learn but becomes disgustingly overpowered when you do learn her meanwhile Varus is a much safer easier pick and he can be picked into different lanes and different team comps. He provides a strong presence all throughout the game (never really is weak) and has utility and range as well as mixed damage, tank shredding and AOE damage. (he also has better skins and is a lot more fun :X)
Don't buy Kalista unless you want to get carpal tunnel.
Varus is much more fun to play IMO, and he is pretty strong with Deathfire Touch. However, Kalista is a much safer pick if you get good with her passive, and is super good if you are in voice chat with your support.
Kalista is the harder to play of the two, but she can handle getting dove much better, while Varus kinda gets wrecked by dive unless he has good peel from teammates.
