Keep New Players With New Players

During several games of mine whether im on my lvl 30 account or 20 account, i get put with new players often. Not hating, but itd be better to have a lvl 5 who is with their lvl 30/20 friend, to get paired up with lower lvl players. Because bringing a lvl 5 to a game filled with lvl 20s/30s only screams feeding to me. My last game I had as Nocturne (my main) was put with a chogath player who was new. She went top saying she didnt know what she was doing. I told her friend cait if she taught her. She said no, thus 0/7/0 in 10 minutes. Teemo was then fed, and unstoppable, then he started to feed off me and everyone else. Its not fun :(

Solution #1: Be within 3 levels of eachother to play with friends. Solution #2: Get paired up with lower levels (lower levels are either lvl 30 smurfs, or new players) Solution #3: Keep it the same.

The fact that this happens is proof that Riots post about normal mode matchmaking actually exists and there is a hidden normal mode MMR, is a complete farce. Normal mode is a completely random smorgasbord clearly built around the shortest queue times.

All of your solutions wont work because the conflict with what Riot is trying to accomplish. Riot wants you to to be able to play with your friends any way they can.

#1: defeats the entire purpose of what Riot is currently trying to accomplish "playing with friends". If you are 30, and your friend is 8, with your plan you can't play together. So it is off the table right away.

#2: While possible still does not solve the issue you are pointing out which is the huge spectrum of player skill that low lvl accounts get matched with and also conflicts with #1 in which it prevents you are playing with friends. If you are 8 and I am 30, I can not play with you in your model.

So the answer is do nothing. This isn't a smurf problem directly, its a group queue issue were Riot wants you to be able to play with your friends and they wont inhibit that. Now trying to remove smurfs from completely random games with new players queuing up solo is another story.

New players and people with <250 normal games at level 30 aren't that different in terms of skills in comparison to the rest of skilled player pool.
