Lowering the starting rank/elo of people new to ranked

With the change to make it easier to get to lvl 30, people are going in to ranked with less experience than ever before. However, normally they are being placed at silver 5 to start off with. Most of the time this means that they are playing with much better and more experienced players for their first games, and these players will potentially be less supportive of new players than they could be. Because of this, it is reducing the experience for both new and experienced players. It is my opinion that new players to ranked should be placed at mid-low bronze initially so that they can have a more rewarding experience of ranked games and perform better in those games rather than being discouraged from playing ranked all-together.

well... no offence, and I mean this in the nicest way possible, but silver 5 is probably fair for a new level 30 to be able to show how much they've learned.

To explain; it's neither very high rated, but it's not at the very bottom, I'd say it's probably actually exactly at the 50% or so mark of all players in the game. This means that a new player is assumed to be exactly average, and is then moved up or down from there.

someone could have been taught by a friend who was diamond, for example, and be deserving of somewhere around gold or even plat, or someone could simply be rather bad and drop like a stone into bronze.

Basically, Riot is assuming every player is average instead of "bad" to give them a chance to prove themselves, which is a fair idea as I see it.
