For non-bougie players that just want to have some fun games without farming, ARAM can be great. Does it teach you how to be a great player on SR?...eh.
Anyway, when you play ARAM, who do you love to end up with? And who do hate to end up with?
I'll start.
Love: Vel'Koz, Zyra, Syndra, Sion, Sejuani, and Sona.
Hate: Nunu, Fiddlesticks, Shaco, and Xin Zhao.
Love: Vi, Blitz Hate: Eve, Fiora
Love: Any yordle.
Hate: Playing as boring champions like Garen and Alistar.

Almost all the AP champs are fun to play on ARAM.
I'm a

main on SR, but I don't like to get champions I regularly play on SR for some reason.
I play too much ARAM to really answer for a couple of champs.
What I like, are mages who can abuse the gold gen from FQC. One of the main ones being Fiddlesticks, partially due to his sustain. Conversely, I enjoy playing many tanks since I'm able to use the relic shield line. As you can See, I try to gain a gold advantage over my opponent.
The only champs I don't really like playing are Melee ADC's. It's hard to eek out an advantage when you can't abuse GP items as much and you die alarmingly fast since your expected to build damage.
