How do I get used to unlocked camera?

punksome··1 votes·3,440 views

I've been playing this whole time with locked camera because it just seemed easier to me, but everyone saying unlocked is best for better vision makes me want to switch. The thing is I feel so lost when the cam is unlocked and idk how to get used to it. Can anyone give me tips?

Just force yourself to use it, after 3 or 4 games you're just going to be used for it. Same happened to me when I started playing, and now I feel really uncomfortable if I lock my camera

I just use locked camera and function keys to check on allies frequently.

That's interesting, F keys don't work for me unless I unlock the camera first (I use lock camera like holding space, I turn it on and off).

I cant do it. Been playing since S2 and cant so the move. I tried for a week and my win rate went soo far down it was not funny.

Would it be worth me trying to switch then? People say I wont make it very high on the ladder with locked cam.

An easy way to get used to it is to leave it in a position where you won't have to move it at all. An example being, if you're bot lane, center the camera in the middle of the creep wave. That way, it's not directly centered on you, but will allow you to see your character and the entire vision cone around your character and minions. You'll have to get good at manually moving your mouse to the edge of the screen to look around the map, clicking your minimap to focus your camera there, or using the F1, F2, etc keys to focus on your teammates more quickly.

You can also hold the space bar to keep the camera on your champion when you're fighting or kiting. Learn when and how to use each. It helps.

Practice. After a while you'll wonder how you ever played locked.

The better question is how the heck do you play with locked camera? It's like playing with blinders on.

It's all i've done since I started because no one told me when I was new that i'd be better of switching early. :/

And Riot give the option to lock. They need to remove it and only have the "jump to" option.

If they are going to have the option to lock they need to make it more dynamic and zoomed out more.

Here are some tips I think might help you out

Use a key binding for the 'center camera on player' function. I think it's automatically set to the spacebar. (I use my spacebar for 'target champions only' so I don't accidentally attack a tower or a minion during a tower dive or a teamfight or something). Use that keybinding to quickly relocate your champion whenever you lose sight of them. There should also be an option (I believe it is a box you check off) to highlight your champion when you press that key for added clarity.

Also, if you play in colorblind mode your healthbar will be yellow and easier to spot compared to everyone else's

Hope these help

Play Starcraft

Keep your left thumb on the space bar, so whenever you feel lost, you can click it to zoom back to your character's location.

I have moved the camera lock button to the space bar. I play a lot of the game In locked mode, but when I need to turn it off to increase my vision it's pretty quick and ez
