Why can't we queue for a single role?

I enjoy playing support and jungle, but I've been having a hard time carrying from support. I don't feel comfortable in solo lanes at all, yet I'm forced to pick that or just go support every game... I've lost 15 LP today because I dodged twice, which I know is my fault but there are certain match ups I know I'm going to just lose. So why can't we just bite the bullet and sign up for a single role? I'd honestly rather wait a minute and get jungle every game than have to play roulette and hope I don't get mid or top.

I understand this is a bit of a venting/bitching post but it honestly sucks. Riot claims that the primary role is weighted heavily, which feels like a flat out lie. 4/11 games I got jungle, when it was my primary. 2 out of those 4 were when I signed up for jungled/mid, 1 was jungle/top, 1 was jungle/support. The other 7 games were jungle/support, got support each time. So 1/8 games I got my primary role while signing up for support as secondary.

In normal games, I don't care. Supporting is fun and is my second best role. But it's gotten to the point where I'm almost feeling desperate to play jungle. I have a much harder time carrying from the support role, when I want to win, I want to jungle. This new queue system makes it almost luck based to get the role you want.

So now I'm sitting here waiting for my 30 minute dodge penalty to wear off, to hope I get the role I actually want.

Edit: Next game, queue jungle/mid. Of course I get mid, ask to swap. Guy feeds because he's nice and swapped but he was obviously not a capable mid...

Edit 2: Queued up, got top after queuing jungle/top. Is jungle the most preferred role or something?

We would have long ass queue times because no one likes support ;-;

Plat + would basically never get in a game. Sure low elo it would work, Qd would increase still, but that's becuase it's populated

Waiting for 5 extra seconds to get into support? I'm sold.

A bigger problem is how "primary role" isn't "primary". Yes, I'm talking about supports getting mid even though mid is one of the most popular roles.

Though if anyone remembers how long it takes for people to get into a game in Team Builder... yeah, that's what we will see. And "trolling" supports.

I think we should be able to select a single roll and que up. I would rather wait a longer time and play a roll i like then to have to wait shorter times and possibly play some other roll i hate. They should keep the current system but add one other option to picks and have it be a "No Roll" So in primary I could click jungle and then secondary no roll. It would be a longer wait time but I chose that. It should at least be an option.

the problem really is how adversely this effects support secondaries. Having support as a second role in the previous system meant that there was a decent support when somebody else that probably mained your role was there as well. its a player choice that wins more games because so many people don't want to play support. riot is essentially attempting to force everybody that played support as a secondary role into support primary. I'm done with it. Either I'm going to change my secondary to another role or I'll pick adc before the adc gets to. there still is a pick order. This system will cause even more problems because there is not a role enforcing agent to make people pick up the slack in support.
