New Runes for Jungle Aatrox-Discussion
I'm an Aatrox main, and I play Aatrox in the jungle. After the new runes got released, it seems like most champions' damage got increased, and the original protection from the old defensive runes was gone too. In such case, I realized that my Aatrox no longer has the survivability to let his passive activate (not the revive passive, but the AS & AD buff), and I just straight up died whenever I jumped into a fight. Of course I can complain about the new runes, but I want to be more constructive, so I will explain my situation and hopefully some Aatrox players can share their ideas and discuss with me about what runes I should go for in order to survive long enough to proc my passive.
The runes I run right now are:
Press The Attack For this one I have tried both lethal tempo and press the attack. Lethal tempo is for sure the ideal keystone for Aatrox, for that Aatrox's damage and heals rely on AS heavily. However, in ganks, the 1.5s delay is usually too long for such a surprise attack, while Press the Attack proc instantly after 3 auto's, providing bonus damage, and make the target suffer more damage afterwards. As a result, I picked Press the Attack instead of Lethal Tempo.
Triumph Triumph provides good heals in team fights. I have thought about overheal, but the shield is just too small that is not quite worth to take.
Legend: Bloodline For the stacking stats, I choose life steal instead of AS, for that it's harder to get life steal than it is to get AS.
Last Stand This rune fits Aatrox really well, since Aatrox usually fights at the edge of death.
Unflinching I'm not that certain about this one. I think an AA fighter like him will benefit from slow resistance.
Revitalize
The extra heal for himself is really useful both for the item life steal and the W heals.
